The Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Legendary Dragon Decks contain the most ferocious Dragons throughout the ages. Although some of those Dragons are reprints of already-existing favorites, Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is brand new and packs a lot of power!

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is an all-new Fusion Monster available in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Legendary Dragon Decks. You can Summon it by fusing a Dark Magician with any Dragon. Since it uses the Dark Magician as a Fusion Material, you can also Summon it by activating The Eye of Timaeus (also available in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Legendary Dragon Decks) while you control the Dark Magician.

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight has 3000 ATK and 2500 DEF, allowing it to rival even the mighty Blue-Eyes White Dragon. In addition, it packs a bunch of cool effects that help it slide right into the Dark Magician theme.

First, its name becomes Dark Magician while it’s on the field or in the Graveyard. That means you can revive it from your Graveyard with Eternal Soul, Magician of Dark Illusion, and Palladium Oracle Mahad, each of which specifically Special Summons the “one and only” Dark Magician. It also means that you can activate cards like Dark Magic Attack and Thousand Knives while Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is on the field, since those cards can be activated while you control the Dark Magician.

Second, while Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is on your field, your opponent cannot target your Spell & Trap Cards with card effects. This means all your back rows are safe from cards like Cosmic Cyclone.

Finally, while Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is on your field, none of your Spell or Trap Cards can be destroyed. That means they’re invulnerable to the effects of popular cards like Mystical Space Typhoon, Twin Twisters, and Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King.

Protecting your Spell & Trap Cards is important in a Dark Magician Deck, since Dark Magician Decks are heavily reliant on back row cards like Dark Magical Circle. Cards like Magician of Dark Illusion, Magician’s Robe, and Magician’s Rod have effects that can be used if you activate a Spell or Trap Card during your opponent’s turn. Protecting your Spell and Trap Cards with Dark Magician the Dragon Knight will help you do that.

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight works well with a lot of different Dark Magician cards, but it has its most powerful synergy with Eternal Soul.

Eternal Soul is one of the most powerful Trap Cards in the Dark Magician arsenal, since it has a variety of amazing effects. It makes your Dark Magician unaffected by your opponent’s card effects, and once per turn it lets you Special Summon a Dark Magician from your Graveyard or add a Thousand Knives or Dark Magic Attack from your Deck to your hand. Since Dark Magician the Dragon Knight counts as the Dark Magician while it’s on the field or in the Graveyard, it works with all those effects. Eternal Soul’s incredible effects are balanced out by a harsh drawback that destroys all your monsters when it leaves the field, but Dark Magician the Dragon Knight will make sure it doesn’t leave the field, since it prevents Eternal Soul from being targeted or destroyed.

Eternal Soul Special Summons Dark Magician the Dragon Knight from the Graveyard and makes it unaffected by your opponent’s card effects. Then, Dark Magician the Dragon Knight makes Eternal Soul impossible to target or destroy. While you control both of those cards, your opponent will have a hard time removing any of your cards from the field.

Dark Magician the Dragon Knight is a powerful monster that is easy to Summon and even easier to protect. You can add it to your Deck when the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Legendary Dragon Decks release on October 6th!
