Service Options

The Small Business Center (SBC) is part of a statewide network designed to support the development and growth of small businesses. Our mission is to increase the success rate and the number of viable small businesses in Surry and Yadkin counties by providing high quality, readily accessible assistance to prospective and existing small business owners. Our services are available for free or very low cost.

Confidential Counseling

Request for free, confidential counseling to assist you with starting or growing a business. Areas for discussion include: licensing, permits, general tax requirements, financial analysis reviews, and marketing strategies.

Business Seminars & Workshops

Free or low cost seminars to help you on starting a business and managing a small business. Seminars include: how to start your own small business, writing a business plan, financing a business, bookkeeping, tax education, marketing, and numerous specialty topics.

Networking, Resources and Referrals

Literature regarding business concerns, such as business plans, cash flow/record keeping, marketing and sources of funding is available in the Small Business Resource Center along with a computer for business research. We have an extensive referral network with partnering agencies such as the North Carolina Small Business Technology Development Center, local chambers of commerce, and the Surry and Yadkin Economic Development groups.
