* SECV offers unlimited data plans. However, SECV does monitor data usage at all hours, and its customers have agreed to ensure that their activities do not improperly restrict, inhibit, or degrade any other user’s use of the service or SECV’s ability to deliver and monitor the service, or SECV network resources. If determined through data monitoring that a customer’s data usage has strained the ability of the network to perform optimally for other users then SECV reserves the right granted by the FCC to deploy network management tools that may affect that customer’s Internet performance for a temporary period of time.

Internet discount offer applies only to customers that have not subscribed to SECV Internet within the last three (3) months and is only valid for twelve (12) months; after that, regular rates apply.

It is recommended to rent a modem from SECV for the best possible Internet experience and support; however, you may purchase a modem from a third-party retailer. A DOCSIS 3.1 modem with a minimum of 24 X 8 channel bonding is required for optimal performance. Customers who purchase their own modem are responsible for troubleshooting modem related issues using the manufacturer’s user manual. Some third-party retailer modems may not be capable of getting upgraded speeds. Our technical service representatives fully support only modems rented directly from SECV. Customers who subscribe to the 600M, 1 Gig, or 2 Gig tier receive a modem rental at no additional charge.

For maximum speeds of 2 Gig, a CM9200 modem is required and must be connected to a wired Ethernet connection. In addition, desktops or laptops require a minimum of 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet Network Interface Card (NIC) or USB 3.0 Ethernet Adapter.

IP traffic sent to customers on ports TCP 25, TCP 80, TCP 443, TCP 445, TCP 1080, TCP 6667-6669, TCP 1433-1434, TCP&UDP 135-139, TCP&UDP 67 are blocked for security and network management reasons to minimize customer’s computers from being virus infected through well known vulnerabilities and/or to avoid infected or hostile computers from affecting other users computers.

Customers will receive either 2 dynamic public IP addresses acquirable via DHCP or may receive 2 dynamic private IPs behind Network Address Translation (NAT) via DHCP. Customers that receive NAT’d private IPs will have all inbound ports blocked that are not opened as a result of an outbound request due to the operation of NAT.
