Flying- and Electric-type Pokémon have long been thought of as quintessential type to have on your team, even after the removing the need to use Fly thanks to Ride Pokémon. Each type has its tactical advantages that, when employed correctly, can make your time traversing Paldea in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet much more appealing.

The only issue to be aware of is that the Paldean-specific Flying- and Electric-type Pokémon are not the strongest, but they’re at least tightly packed by attributes. There is also only one pure type of either on the list.

The best Flying- and Electric-type Paldean Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet

Below, you will find the best Paldean Flying and Electric Pokémon ranked by their Base Stats Total (BST). This is the accumulation of the six attributes in Pokémon: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. Each Pokémon listed below has at least a 485 BST.

Flying-type Pokémon are the third most common in the game with Grass and Psychic being first and second. However, there are only four pure Flying-type Pokémon across the games, and one of those is a legendary that has two forms. The four are Tornadus (Incarnate Forme), Tornadus (Therian Forme), Rookidee, and Corvisquire. This means there are many dual-types and in fact, Flying was the first type to be paired with all other types at least once. Flying-type Pokémon are also immune to Ground attacks.

Electric is far more rare than Flying, tying with Dragon-type as the third rarest with Fairy first and Ghost second. Electric Pokémon tend to be fast and have high Special Attack ratings. Whereas Flying is immune to Ground, Ground is the only weakness for Electric-type Pokémon.

The list will be a combined list rather than listing each type separately. This will not include legendary, mythical, or Paradox Pokémon.

1. Flamigo (Flying and Fighting) – 500 BST

Flamigo is only the third Pokémon with its typing. The first was Hawlucha and the second being the Galarian form of Zapdos. The Synchronize Pokémon is a flamingo that the Pokédex describes as having a “synchronicity” with other in its flock that allows them to attack in perfect harmony.

Flamigo is a speedy attacker as most Flying-type Pokémon. It has 115 Attack, 90 Speed, and 82 HP. While its 64 Special Defense is low, it’s at least tightly packed with the 75 Special Attack and 74 Defense. Flamigo holds weaknesses to Flying, Electric, Psychic, Ice, and Fairy with an immunity to Ground.

2. Bellibolt (Electric) – 495 BST

Bellibolt represents the only pure Electric-type on this list. It evolves from Tadbulb after using a Thunderstone. The blob looks like a cross between a Paliptoad and a blob, waddling around on its two short legs.

Bellibolt falls just under 500 BST with 495 BST, still respectable. It’s a bit different from most pure Electric-type Pokémon as it has 109 HP, 103 Special Attack, 91 Defense, and 83 Special Defense, but a 64 Attack and even more uncharacteristic 45 Speed. It makes up for its lack of speed with higher defensive attributes. It’s only weakness is to Ground.

3. Kilowattrel (Electric and Flying) – 490 BST

Kilowattrel seemingly resembles a frigate bird with its beak and large wings. Its coloring is pretty typical of Electric-type Pokémon with a yellow and black body. Kilowattrel evolves at level 25 from Wattrel.

Killowattrel is your prototypical Electric-type even though it is part Flying. It has 125 Speed and 105 Special Attack, good for quickly hitting with moves like Thunderbolt. The other four attributes are within a ten-point range, but that range is 70 HP and Attack, and 60 Defense and Special Defense. Kilowattrel holds weaknesses to Rock and Ice with an immunity to Ground.

4. Pawmot (Electric and Fighting) – 490 BST

Pawmot is the final evolution of Pawmi, which begins as pure Electric before evolving at level 18 into Pawmo, adding Fighting-type. Pawmo then evolves into Pawmot after walking 1,000 steps with Pawmot in Let’s Go mode. This is where you hit R to have Pamot explore with you and engage in auto battles.

Pawmot is still fast with 105 Speed, but upends the special attacking of Electric for the physicality of Fighting with 115 Attack. It rounds out its attributes with 70 in HP, Defense, and Special Attack, and 60 Special Defense. Pamot holds weaknesses to Ground, Psychic, and Fairy.

5. Bombirdier (Flying and Dark) – 485 BST

Bombirdier, like Flamigo, is a non-evolving Pokémon. Bombirdier appears to be based on the white stork and the Western stories of the stork delivering babies. Bombirdier appears to be holding some kind of satchel or cloth, which it then uses to bestow items during battle (sort of like Delibird’s Present attack).

Bombirdier is fairly well-rounded. It has 103 Attack, 85 Defense and Special Defense, 82 Speed, 70 HP, and a low 60 Special Attack. Luckily, many Flying and Dark attacks are physical. Bombirdier holds weaknesses to Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy with immunities to Ground and Psychic.
