Only two hours driving from Bangkok, a trip to Thailand is never complete without a taste of Pattaya nightlife. While you spend the day at the city’s famed beaches, there is much to do once the sun goes down as well!

You can fit in all that Thailand has to offer in one night in Pattaya, from the best of nightclubs to the most insidious of red light experiences.

I’ve put together a Pattaya nightlife guide from my recent visit to the city, arranged in order of Pattaya’s best nightlife areas.

Pattaya Walking Street

At the outset, a visit to Walking Street is a must for the experience in itself. You can not go to Walking Street, as it’s an attraction in its own right! Regardless of whether you’re interested in the kind of nightlife here, the lights and sounds of this nightlife area are sights to see!

This kilometer-long stretch is the busiest and most crowded of Pattaya’s nightlife places. Today, its prices are high and the area is very commercialized. So, you’re better off just soaking in the experience than actually shelling a few bucks here.

However, if you’re not averse to the high prices, there’s quite a bit to do. The street starts filling up only at around 10 PM and is at its busiest at midnight. The open beer bars are the best ways to start and are the cheapest option for drinks on Walking Street.

Then, stroll down the road, filled with Go-Go bars, as staff outside advertise offers of alcohol and happy hours.

The most famous one here is Alcatraz, a kinky prison-themed bar. If you’re not interested in the vulgar, then you’ll definitely enjoy the performances of the many talented live bands which put on a show each night.

You can also catch a Muay Thai boxing show while you’re here. If you’re like me, you’ll look forward to Walking Street as it also has some of the top nightclubs in Pattaya, like Club Insomnia, Lucifer Club, and the Mixx.

Soi 6

If you’re after the more infamous and naughty experiences Thailand has to offer, Soi 6 is what you’re looking for.

It is easy to get to as it is connected via all major bus routes. Rather than spending at Walking Street, Soi 6 has the best red light nightlife in Pattaya, Thailand.

This nightlife area is crowded with many Go Go bars, and unlike Walking Street, it is much cheaper and more affordable. There aren’t many ladyboy bars, though.

As you make your way here, ‘hostesses’ on the street will try to get you to come to their establishments by calling out to you in distinctive tones. Before you step in, however, you can peek in to see the activities in the open-front Go Go bars.

Not all the bars are the same – they have different themes and different price ranges. Inside, you can buy serving ‘staff’ a drink too. Tourist favorites are the Ruby Club, Roxy Club, and the Passion Dance Club.

Soi 7 and Soi 8

These two parallel streets offer a more local experience of nightlife in Pattaya. This is much cheaper than Walking Street and great for budget travelers, with local beer starting at just 65 Baht.

Here, you can get started with drinks at the open beer bars with smaller bars inside. Walking around, you will get to see some great live rock music, massage parlors, and also some affordable guesthouses.

Scattered with Go Go bars with open facades for you to look inside, it also has a few ladyboy bars.

On the whole, these party streets in Pattaya are more relaxed, chill, and affordable version of Soi 6! Some of the much-loved bars and clubs here are the Luxor Bar and the Pandora Bar.

Soi LK Metro

Soi LK Metro PattayaSoi LK Metro Pattaya

Soi LK Metro has been treated as one of the best party streets in Pattaya, but some tourists would disagree. Nonetheless, it offers the standard Pattaya party and nightlife experience at value-for-money rates.

This party street is close to popular hotels and has its own selection of good-quality budget rooms and guest houses. Again, like all of Pattaya’s party places, Soi LK Metro has an assortment of busy Go Go bars.

There aren’t as many as in Waking Street, but they’re of equal and sometimes, even better quality. The bars and nightclubs here are gaining traction as they offer a less crowded, getaway experience from Walking Street and Soi 6.

It offers much the same services, minus the loud music and hordes of tourists. For the same reasons, however, it has a sort of tame, flat vibe, with no excitement in the air.

Definitely not an ‘iconic’ nightlife spot. However, if you prioritize a good drink over everything else, this area has some of the best bars and clubs in Pattaya.

Scooters Bar and Billabong Bar are popular drinking spots, with reasonably priced beer for under 80 Baht. It also has one of Pattaya’s best Go Go nightclubs, Champagne Agogo.

Soi Buakhao

This is one of the newest streets that offer good nightlife in Pattaya, with the usual beer bars, ladyboy bars, strip clubs, and Go Go bars.

Here you can chill more while having a drink with your mates. It’s not too busy, frequented by tourists mostly because of its lower prices.

By this point in your stay in Pattaya, if you’ve more than had enough of the red light scene, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the night markets here. It’s perhaps the safest of all of Pattaya’s nightlife if you’re dragging your family along!

This covers most of the things to see and do if you’re in Pattaya, Thailand. There’s a little bit for everyone here! I hope this Pattaya nightlife guide and tips have helped chalk out your plans to visit Pattaya at night!
