Mario Badescu Silver Powder: Mattify. Unclog. Purify.

At first I thought that finally, Mario Badescu is venturing into the makeup segment already until I read the label.

But who is Mario Badescu anyway? He’s a Romanian born skin care specialist and he built his first salon in 1967 in New York, offering European- style facials using botanical- based products. He has this unique passion for anything skin care which eventually led him to craft his own products, meticulously tweaking them one by one until he came up with the perfect formulations. Not long after, he was already rubbing elbows with the most sought- after celebrities and his products have gained a massive consumer following up to this very day. Mario Badescu specializes in Anti-Acne and Anti-Aging products for the face and body made with only the best possible botanical ingredients and tested formulations. Famous users of his products are Liv Tyler and Charlize Theron.

Mario’s principle is just simple:

To brighten up the world with our time-tested skin care products and treatments, in order to provide customers with the beautiful and healthy skin every human being is entitled to.

I have been itching to try his products ‘cuz of the so many glowing reviews I read, but this quote was really the reason why I rushed to a Rustan’s store and bought a basic Mario Badescu skin care set comprised of a gel cleanser, toner, and the super famous Drying Lotion. Yes, Mario, I want to be entitled to beautiful and healthy skin. 🙂

Oh yeah, so he’s got a new product and it’s called the Silver Powder. What is this thing? Find out after the break. 🙂

Silver Powder is actually a for-all-skin-types spot mask in powder form. It’s meant to be used with a dampened cotton ball and applied on certain parts of the face only, especially the oily ones. It contains Calcium Carbonate, Kaolin, and Zinc Oxide to clean pores by removing blackheads and whiteheads, and takes away excess sebum. Mario Badescu suggested that it can be easily removed by a toner only- no need to be rinsed with a facial cleanser!

I also read that this product promises a remarkable difference after the first usage. Well, I’ll find that out for myself. 🙂 In the meantime, you can check out Mario Badescu Silver Powder in all Rustan’s and Essences stores and it retails at P745.00.
