HR Business Partners | Human Resources

Under the direction of the Director of Business HR, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) functions as an engaged, expert partner assigned to business unit(s) and department managers. The HRBP delivers and implements health system HR priorities to achieve business unit objectives while ensuring a high degree of consistency throughout the health system.

HRBPs maintain a high level of business literacy as it relates to the assigned business unit’s financial position, culture and engagement, business objectives and goals, and relevant HR-metrics in order to partner with managers and business units and develop practical solutions that are responsive to the needs, responsibilities, and objectives of assigned business areas.

Department leadership and staff members may reach out to their assigned HRBP for support with:

  • Assessing and anticipating HR-related needs for their teams, including identifying gaps and issues surrounding department operations and employee performance;
  • Formulating effective solutions and deliver value-added services to management and employees that improve operations, performance, and address needs in congruence with the business objectives of the health system;
  • Management consulting for human resources-related issues while acting as an employee champion and change agent;
  • Facilitating development and implementation of better people management and development practices; this includes communicating needs to and collaborating with other health system HR departments to forge integrated plans and execute solutions to achieve established goals, improve work performance, and enhance department effectiveness.
