Here’s A Closer Look At The New Hyundai Kona Electric | Carscoops
The EV variant of the 2024 Hyundai Kona has a few version-specific styling cues accentuating the sci-fi theme of the series
Hyundai published a new video, highlighting the exterior and interior design of the new Kona Electric. This is our best look yet at the zero-emission 2024 Hyundai Kona which features a number of specific styling details over its ICE-powered and hybrid counterparts.
The entire Hyundai Kona range adopts a grille-less look with full-width DRLs on both ends and and split headlights/taillights, but the Kona Electric takes the sci-fi looks a step further by adding pixels in the LED bars. Other specific elements include the sleeker bumpers with smaller intakes, the charging port mounted at the front, the body-colored wheel arches, and exclusive five-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior sports a digital cockpit with dual 12.3-inch screens mounted in a single panel, a new shift-by-wire gear selector behind the steering wheel, and white upholstery. From the controls on the dashboard, we can see that this Kona Electric is equipped with dual-zone climate control, heated seats, front and rear USB-C ports, a wireless charging pad, and cool-white ambient lighting. The automaker has also confirmed plenty of ADAS including navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC) and Highway Driving Assist (HDA).
Hyundai suggests that the cabin of the second-gen Kona is roomier compared to its predecessor, something that is evident from the video. The boot also appears to be adequate-sized for the segment, even though the only official number we have is the 723 lt (25.5 cubic feet) capacity with the rear seats folded.
While we don’t have the official specifications yet, the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric is expected to share a fair bit of its underpinnings with the Kia Niro EV. The latter comes fitted with a single electric motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS) and a 64.8 kWh battery pack allowing an EPA-estimated range of 253 miles (407 km) between charges.
