Curls en Route (Solo Travel Blog) – About Nadine Arab
I’M NADINE ARAB, AND THIS IS CURLS EN ROUTE, MY SOLO TRAVEL BLOG!
I’m an Egyptian curly-head who decided to quit the norm because it just doesn’t suit me. I ditched my 9-5 as a magazine editor to pursue my dream of becoming a full-time digital nomad and to inspire aspiring travelers to embark on their own solo adventures.

How did I start my solo travel blog?
After years of traveling with friends and family, I started solo traveling in early 2016, but only after my Erasmus experience later that year, I realized that I wanted to do this for life. On my third solo trip in 2017, it hit me. I wondered why not combine the 3 things I love the most; traveling, writing, and my camera, into one thing? That’s when I decided to put Curls en Route into action, turning it from just an idea in my travel journal to an actual solo travel blog.

About Curls en Route
By now you might be thinking, there are tons of solo travel and female travel blogs out there, why read mine? Well, Curls en Route caters to several readers, and if you’re one of them, then you’ve come to the right place.
I blog to encourage and inspire everyone to travel. Yes, everyone! Traveling is a life-changing experience and it’s by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. The world is a classroom and for you to learn the most valuable lessons, you need to issue a passport and use it.
I offer extra support to solo travelers and women. Even though I hope to inspire everyone, I like to shed more light on solo travel, especially for women. It’s okay to travel alone, and it’s okay to be a girl. It can be safe, it can be fun, it can be adventurous, and it will be life-changing.

This is also a space to inform, educate, and raise awareness; not just to inspire. Be it travel tips and hacks I’ve figured out after years of experience, guides to beautiful destinations and hidden gems you might like to explore, or travel stories that’ll surely have something for you to take away, you name it. I’ll be more than glad to share it all.
My homeland Egypt also gets its share of love. Since I’m raising awareness about the world’s most beautiful destinations, my country will definitely come on top of the list. I’m not being biased, but I rather feel blessed to be coming from a place with such a rich heritage and that’s why I feel obligated to shed light on what it has to offer. Especially because Egypt is one of the most stereotyped countries in the world. Also, because the culture is so complex for a tourist to grasp by spending only a few days, visiting its most touristic sites. So, when you decide to plan your trip to Egypt, a local’s insight will surely come in handy. I’d be more than glad to offer you useful information from everything you need to know about places to visit in Egypt to the ins and outs of the country and its culture.
I also share some interesting facts and stories from my everyday life in Cairo on Instagram, so you might as well want to follow me.
I’d also like to connect with you. If you’re a like-minded traveler, an avid reader, or just anyone interested in working or collaborating with me, let’s talk! Feel free to e-mail me, fill in this contact form, or even send me a DM.
Last but not least, aside from being passionate about traveling, my readers and followers are the reason I keep blogging. So, if you land on this page, I’d like to thank you for being part of this. Happy reading!
