Buttock Enhancement NY | Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery in New York & New Jersey
(pricing includes post-surgical garment and initial Lymphatic Massage)
Big butts are in. That’s the story. To get you there, we need to borrow some fat from your abdomen and do 360-degree liposuction around your waist. We then take the fat, purify it, and transfer it to your buttocks. The procedure takes 2-4 hours and can be done under local anesthesia with laughing gas, or intravenous sedation anesthesia. It is always better to avoid general anesthesia in these cases in order that you help move as needed and also help avoid some risks of BBLs like blood clots.
As in most other operations, you should be a reasonable weight. To be sure you are a candidate for a BBL, please check your Body Mass Index (BMI) at this site:
https://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm
A BMI of 30 is preferred, but a measurement of up to 32 is sometimes acceptable.
RECOVERY FROM BBL
After a Brazilian Butt Lift you will have swelling and soreness in the areas the fat was taken from, and a little bit in the butt too. The swelling, soreness and bruising, can last for up to a month but is much better after only 1 week. Pain can be controlled with Tylenol, though prescription medication may be given. Most patients return to work and regular activities after 1- 2 weeks but must avoid strenuous exercise for about 3 weeks.

RISKS OF BBL
Superficial risks associated with BBL/liposuction include the following:
-
Loose or rippled skin at the donor site, like in any liposuction case
-
Worsening of cellulite
-
Asymmetry – uneven areas
-
Contour irregularities – dimples and bumps
-
Pigmentation irregularities
-
Seromas – a collection of water/fluid in the space where the fat was
-
Need for surgery to remove excess skin at lipo sites
-
Absorption of transferred fat. About 50% of the transferred fat live permanently. That means that some patients that want a really big butt, will want to do 2, even 3, sessions. Most, however, are happy with just one.
As with all operations, liposuction carries risks like an infection (very rare), bleeding (also rare), and blood clots to the leg and lung (rare too – but can be fatal). So be sure to move around the house after surgery to keep your legs from clotting. Also be sure to give your entire medical history including clotting risks like prior clots, miscarriages, prior cancer, and birth control pill use.
One complication that also needs to be mentioned is fat embolism. This is a case where the injected fat accidentally gets into your bloodstream, goes to your lungs, and affects your breathing. It can be fatal and fatal cases have been reported from around the world. The best way to prevent this is to be sure your surgeon is well trained and does not try to add fat in places where it is not safe or overstuff the buttocks with too much fat. Remember, the fat transferred to your butt is supposed to “take root” and live forever, so if we stuff too much in, that fat will “suffocate”, and if I push too hard to inject, it can get into your veins and harm you seriously.
BBL is a great procedure but it MUST be done safely.
*All pricing includes pre-op/post-op appointments, surgeons fee, and facility/anesthesia fees. The average Brazillian Butt Lift price is $6200.
