Business Analyst

This role is Hybrid and only requires 3 days a week in the office.
The Business Analyst will lead analysis efforts for Life Insurance Product and Policy Administration System initiatives. This role will require skills in business analysis, system analysis, documentation of business functional requirements, customer relationships, solution recommendation, and decision making. The business analyst should be able to work independently, develop a deep understanding of the business processes, rules, and opportunities as well as understanding the technologies and solutions that support them.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the liaison between the business and technology teams

Interact with business, conduct analysis, and document business processes, workflow, and requirements

Ability to work with our business and technical partners to achieve an efficient and effective solution with holistic view across internal and external systems

Verify that the solution meets the business, compliance, and technical requirements

Analyze and interpret business requirements into functional requirements and specifications that have an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by the technology teams

Solicit business and system requirements using walk-through, document analysis, use case scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis

Write clear and concise requirements ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, feasible, unambiguous, traceable, and verifiable

Support business and technology teams to ensure key deliverables are met in an accurate timely manner

Provide subject matter expertise and assist in the troubleshooting of problems and issues; make recommendations and provide alternative solutions when applicable
Requirements:

Strong analytical, written, verbal and communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization

Ability to explain technical solutions to technical and non-technical teams

Use best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve services

Interpret business challenges, identifies trends and recommends best practices

Explain difficult or sensitive information; collaborates with others to build consensus

Must be very organized and have excellent follow-up skills

A proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple simultaneous priorities
Desired Experience:
-
2-5+ years of business analysis experience
-
Business analysis and systems analysis experience
-
Previous experience working within the Life Insurance or Long-Term Care Industry would be a plus
-
Knowledge of NYL products would be a plus
-
Experience working within agile and waterfall methodologies to deliver large complex projects
Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Salary range: $77,500-$117,500
