Computer and Network Examples

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a network that allows the private networks at a remote location securely connect to the public Internet and provide access only to the intended recipients for transmitting data. VPN is built by creating the virtual point-to-point connection using the dedicated connections, traffic encryption or virtual tunneling protocols.

VPNs allow to computers send and receive data through the public and shared networks as if it was directly connected to the private network. They allow to geographically separated offices of an organization to securely connect forming a one common network. VPNs also allows to Internet users connect to proxy servers for protecting the personal identity and location.

VPNs can be remote-access that connect the individual computers to a network or site-to-site that connect two networks. Today VPNs are based on IP and IP/Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Networks, earlier they were used the Frame Relay and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) virtual circuits.

Computer and Networks Area for ConceptDraw DIAGRAM provides professional looking examples, the libraries with ready-to-use predesigned vector stencils to help you create the Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) quick, easy and effective.
