Audience of Sword Art Online has been anticipating the 5th season for quite some time now. The fans have been expecting a release date for a long time. Recently, Netflix issued a decree that the 5th season may be released on November 6, 2022 after it acquires all of the film’s copyrights. The much-anticipated season 5 may premiere on 6th November in Asia/Tokyo time.
The previous three seasons of the popular anime had 96 episodes and received massive fan following. The Japanese light fiction series, that gained worldwide attention is based on the novel of the same name by Reki Kawahara. The first season, aired in 2012, featured 25 episodes. On the other hand the second season featured 24 episodes, whereas the third season had much more than the initial two. The last season, Seaso 4 had 24 episodes too.
The season 5 is supposed to see the following characters as the cast: Kirito, Agil, Asuna, Yukki, Silica, Lisbeth, Leafa, Eugeo, Yui, Sinon and Klein.
The series focuses on the protagonist Kazuto Kirito Kirigaya and Asuna Yuuki. They play through various virtual reality MMORPG worlds in the near future. The players in the story are trapped inside a virtual world by the name of Sword Art Online. To escape the trap, the players are supposed to clear a total of 100 floors and defeat the boss.
Tomohiko Ito directs the animated series. It is illustrated by ABEC. The series aired for the first time in July 8, 2012. Tomohiko Ito asserted in an interview that the season 5 has emphasized a lot on perfection. The skills of the Japanese Animation studio A-1 pictures has made sure the series receives the desired perfection and matches the awaited anticipation.
