UIBE established in 1951 and set in the northeast of Beijing. UIBE was chosen as a part of Project 211, which is a program to assist develop the top Chinese Universities to become leading international Universities. UIBE is one of the most foremost necessary Universities for training and research on Chinese economic development.
The university offers 40 majors to the international students at bachelors, masters and PhD level in the fields of economics, science, and international trade, liberal arts, law, finance, business management, and foreign languages. The professors at UIBE are highly qualified and most of them have overseas experience. The university has around 13,000 students and more than 3000 international students. UIBE graduates are mainly getting jobs in banks and multinational corporations.
To enhance the lives of international students, the School of International Education holds lectures on Chinese handwriting, Opera and Drama, Martial arts and different topics each semester. University of International Business and Economics also organizes visits to the Great Wall in the first month of the new semester and other trips. There will also be trips to other parts of China during the spring, autumn, summer, and winter holidays,
The University also has sports equipment that the students can use like a football field, basketball, tennis court. The International Students Union represents the overseas Students at UIBE and also organizes a variety of activities and will help students to feel at home and address any considerations as they will provide facilities and might facilitate communication between students and the university.
There are several banks close to UIBE where students can open their account. There is a Post Office near the campus west gate. The school has dining halls that serve Chinese cafeteria food. The food prices regarding 3-5 USD per day. Students can purchase by an E-card at the catering office on the 2nd floor of the Jingmao Cafeteria between 1-2pm from Monday to Friday. Huiyuan restaurant on the 3rd floor of the Jingmao Cafeteria are approximately 5-10 USD per meal, and should be paid by cash.
There are a variety of different restaurants around the University. There are a lot of small shops around UIBE and several supermarkets and many shopping centers in Beijing. The closest ones are Bei Chen at the Asian Games Village and Ito Yokado to the north of campus. There is also the Friendship Store at the Lufthansa Center southeast of campus.
UIBE places great importance on helping students to seek work experience and career opportunities. UIBE was the first University in China to determine a consulting service for an international students to help them to get a job and also there are so many opportunities for students to take internships while they are studying here and to get a job afterwards. The location of UIBE is near the CBD in Beijing and the international companies and job opportunities are there. These are a unique advantage of UIBE compared to other Universities.
