The 12 Best Digital Business Cards 2023 (Ultimate Guide) – Samantha Brandon

Last Updated on February 1, 2023

Looking for the best digital business cards for 2022? I’ve got you covered. I’ve personally spent hours upon hours personally testing all of them. I’m going to break down all the good, the bad, and the ugly with this honest breakdown of all the major companies.

Still not sure if you need a digital card? Well first, let me take you back.

It’s 2005 and you’re getting ready for the annual (insert your business niche here) convention. You’ve got your professional game face on, and your purse or pockets ready to whip out those fancy business cards to market your business. Fast forward three days later, you have a collection of paper business cards in your hand and the reality is they go straight to the trash, with maybe one or two making it to your wallet or purse.

Okay, maybe I’m exaggerating, but this is 2023. And digital business cards have evolved into so much more than a way to exchange contact information and can help you:

  • Help you track and capture leads

  • Connect and track your sales team’s efforts

  • Keep your potential clients updated with the latest contact information

So when you’re getting ready to go to your first networking convention since pre-pandemic days, don’t be that person handing out a physical business card. Because there’s a better way. You want to show that you’re a tech-savvy individual that stays up to date with the times.

If you’re in a hurry, here are three picks you can’t go wrong with.

1. Blinq

Best Digital Business Card for Individuals

Blinq is one of the leading and most popular platforms when it comes to creating a digital business card, and for good reason. After testing the application myself, I found the app and website extremely user-friendly and was able to create a sleek, professional-looking landing page for potential clients. If you’re someone that enjoys the feeling of having a physical card, you can also design an NFC business card to keep in your wallet when networking.

Here are a few of the features from Blinq that stood out to me:

  • They make the digital-sharing experience easy. Send your contact information by QR code, text, e-mail, or even through virtual backgrounds during your Zoom meetings.

  • For easy-access, you can set up a widget on your smart phone or Apple watch so that you have your business card always “on you”, whether it’s at a convention or an impromptu meeting at the coffee shop.

  • If you’re a large business, they have a Teams option where you can customize and “templatize” your employees cards. Not to mention, on-boarding with Microsoft Azure and CRM integrations like Salesforce and Hubspot.

  • The customizable landing page lets you add more than just your basic contact information, such as links, social media pages, payment options, and website.

  • I wish they had the capability to add in video embeds. Maybe we’ll see that in the future.

Pricing: As far as free versions go, Blinq is very generous with the features it lets you trial without needing to pay a monthly subscription. However, for only $3 a month, you get everything an entrepreneur would need in a digital card.

VERDICT

Overall, Blinq delivers a great digital business card experience that’s easy to create and easy to share at an affordable price.

2. Popl

Best NFC Digital Business Card for Enterprise Companies

As the digital business card industry has evolved, there’s a few major players to stand out among the rest- and Popl is definitely one of them.

I’ve written an entire post dedicated to Popl business cards which you can check out, but in short, I highly recommend them.

First off, they have the largest amount of options for NFC products (Near Field Communication). Whether it’s a digital card, badge, or wristband, Popl has you covered.

But my favorite part is the landing page. For those of you that are new to a landing page, it’s what pops up on the other’s person’s phone when you share your contact information. Here’s a snippet of mine:

But if you’re a large company with hundreds or thousands of employees, they’re ready to make your transition from paper to digital an easy transition. They can help you design a winning and converting landing page to help your company stand apart from the rest and outnetwork your competitors.

Here’s some more of the pro’s and con’s of Popl:

  • The Popl flat sticker can be customized with your company logos on it. There are other options such as cards, bands, and badges.

  • The Popl landing page is top-notch, probably one of the best. They have video embeds, payment options, photos, customizable links, literally anything you can think of for your company. All of this shared with just the wave of your phone.

  • The pro versions allow you to create two profiles: social and business. This is convenient to switch from casual to professional networking events.

  • There are so many amazing features, but they do come at a cost. I really recommend upgrading to the Pro to get access to them all.

Pricing: You have to purchase the tag, but then the app is free for only the most basic functions. In order to get access to many features like the business card scanner, etc, you have to upgrade to the Pro version for $7.99 per month, so keep this in mind if you’re not planning to pay for the subscription.

VERDICT

If you’re looking for a virtual business card utilizing cutting-edge technology, then Popl has everything you need. Keep in mind, that many functions like scanning business cards are only available with the Pro version, so many functions are limited if you don’t purchase the subscription.

3. Mobilo

Best Digital Business Card for Customer Care

Mobilo is another great digital business card for large companies or enterprises to consider. First off, they have fantastic NFC options to choose from. Here’s a look at what some of my products look like:

As far as their platform, they have a more minimalistic landing page that adds links to everything you’re looking for (basic contact information, social media, payment methods, custom URL’s etc.). They also offer a Teams platform that gives you everything you could ever need for your business such as HR and CRM integration, lead tracking, and more. You can see my full review of Mobilo. They also have tremendous customer care that’s available to answer all of your questions and help all your digital card needs – goodbye frustration.

Here is a quick breakdown of Mobilo:

  • Their Teams dashboard is fantastic and user-friendly. If you’re a large enterprise with hundreds of employees, they offer HR/CRM integration that will automatically activate/inactivate as your employees join or leave the company.

  • Lead tracking and generation boards allow you to keep track of all your company’s networking efforts so you can work to convert them.

  • All the social and link connections you would expect to network your company.

  • The landing page is a bit minimalistic and not as interactive as their competitors (no video embeds).

Pricing: The great part about Mobilo is that there is NO subscription fee for users. Just purchase an NFC product and you have access to everything. For Teams, price varies on the size of your company.

VERDICT

If you’re a large enterprise looking for a great NFC product that you can easily integrate with your HR and CRM software, then Mobilo is a great option.

4. Beaconstac

Best Digital Business Card with QR Codes

Beaconstac is another great digital business card company that combines the power of digital and physical cards through the creation of unique QR Codes. They allow you to create a digital business card with a QR Code that can help you share contact information in an instant and contactless manner.

You can also create a QR Code that you can attach to physical cards, emails, brochures, or anything else you could need it for. This makes it a popular option among major corporations.

Here are some great features of Beaconstac:

  • They’ve put a lot of effort into ramping up their security (SOC-2 Type 2 & GDPR Compliant) so you can have the peace of mind that your products are safe from unwanted hacks.

  • Their dynamic QR Codes allow you to make updates to your company’s information at any time. This gives your clients updated information with a few clicks. Moreover, with these codes, you can let you track the number of card scans, scans by location, time of day, and top/worst-performing digital business cards.

  • Their bulk creation feature lets you create up to 2,000 digital business cards within a few minutes.

Pricing: There is a free option for a static QR Code (meaning you cannot change the information), however for the dynamic QR Code generator you’ll start at $5 a month. There’s also a 14-day free trial so you can test it out to decide if it’s right for you.

VERDICT

If you’re looking for secure dynamic QR Codes that you can add to your digital business cards, as well as to your physical products, then Beaconstac is a great choice.

5. Linq

Best for Diverse NFC Products

Linq is one of the originals in the NFC digital business card space. They offer a ton of products, from customized cards, tags, and apple watch bands that all have their NFC technology. Where Linq really shines is in its software for businesses: any company whether they have five or a thousand employees can manage their entire team with their customizable software and a dedicated Linq Team behind them. This makes them one of the best for those large companies looking to save money and modernize their business cards.

Here’s a look at my landing page with Linq:

I’ve done an entire review on Linq, but here are some of the quick features with Linq:

  • The landing page is completely customizable, allowing you to embed custom links, videos, with customizable colors unique to your company.

  • With the app and products, you can share your card in every single way you could imagine (text, email, QR code, NFC, email signatures).

  • The cards are customizable, so you can pick your colors and logos.

  • The software for large companies is pretty impressive. You can customize your “template” for your company’s business cards, then give your employees access to add in specific features like their LinkedIn accounts. You can give certain people Admin access to help manage hundreds of employees. Add or lose an employee? Then create or delete a card. Did someone transition roles? Simply update their Title, no reprinting is necessary.

  • CRM integration to Hubspot, Outlook, Gmail, Salesforce, basically any system you are using, they integrate to allow you to send all of your leads to one centralized location across your company.

  • If you’re an iOS user, it may take a little more time to learn how to set it up. But I got the hang of it pretty quickly.

Pricing: The cost of the NFC products varies depending on if you get them customized or not. Every product comes with the free app, but if you want additional features like video embed, etc, then you’ll need to upgrade to the Pro version. If you’re looking at the Teams, then you’ll need to get a direct quote depending on how many employees you have.

VERDICT

If you’re looking to convert your company from physical to digital business cards, then Linq is going to be one of the best options. With the ability to update the card as your company grows, Linq will be one of the big players as we see physical cards disappear in the future.

6. Warmly

Best Digital Business Card for Virtual Meetings

Since the pandemic, many companies have transitioned to permanent remote work or hybrid options for their employees. This means lots of virtual meetings through popular platforms like Zoom, Google Meets, etc. And let’s be honest- sometimes our backgrounds are less than aesthetically pleasing.

That’s where Warmly comes in.

Head over to your app store inside Zoom (yes, there’s an app store now!), and download the Warmly app. From there, you can customize your profile with your name, title, location, and socials. This really updates your video calls to a professional scale no matter where you are. Check out mine:

7. HiHello

Best for the Solo Entrepreneur

HiHello is a very popular digital business card platform. It’s a free app available on both Apple and Android phones that allows you to create, receive, and share digital business cards. With an easy-to-use interface, you can create a beautiful, professional digital card in under ten minutes.

Here are some of HiHello’s best features:

  • You can share your card easily with anyone WITHOUT them needing to download the app. This is important because many people may not have the same app you do. It allows you to share the card in many ways including email, QR code, social media, links, or an NFC tag.

  • Nice electronic business card templates for a professional design.

  • The HiHello app also has a business card scanner which is great if you’re still receiving physical business cards. Simply scan the card with your phone and then a real-life person confirms the information is correct and adds it to an address book on the app.

  • There’s an address book, which is a great central place to see all your business contacts in one place.

  • If you swap a business card with another HiHello user, then anytime someone updates their card then all users have the updated information.

  • Available on both iOS and Android.

  • They don’t have company-designed options for NFC cards, which a large business would likely want.

Pricing: There’s a free digital business card available, but also business plans for large companies. As you can see below, there are also upgraded plans so that you can step up your networking efforts with special features like video.

VERDICT

If you’re looking for a virtual business card app that allows you to make, send, receive, and organize your contacts, then this is a great app with a free plan.

8. SwitchIt

Best for Small Businesses

SwitchIt is another popular option in virtual business card apps. You are able to design, send, receive, and organize your business cards all through the app, helping you keep track of potential clients with ease. They also allow you to send your card to someone that doesn’t have the SwitchIt app downloaded, so it’s very versatile (links to many social media platforms).

Some great features with SwitchIt are:

  • Create beautiful business card templates that include contact details, photos, and videos.

  • There are 8 ways to send your virtual business card: Email, text, QR code, Facebook, Facebook messenger, linked in, Twitter, or Whatsapp

  • You can set reminders that will sync to your Google, Microsoft, or Outlook Calendar.

  • The address book called SMART contact management systems allows a ton of functions such as calling or texting from the app, and an easy-to-browse library of contacts.

VERDICT

9. Kado Network

Best for the Large-Scale Networking Professionals

Kado Network not only is a great app for electronic business cards but it’s designed to serve as an all-in-one online networking app. It’s designed to share, receive and organize your digital cards, as well as to organize all of your contact notes and recordings.

Some of the best features of Kado Network include:

  • Includes the basic digital card features such as templates, a paper card scanner, and QR codes for sharing.

  • You can also sync all of your contacts to one place including Outlook and Gmail contacts.

  • Integrates with Linked-In, emails, and calendars to have everything all in one place.

  • Its user-friendly interface allows your business to reduce the time spent on managing your contacts.

Pricing: Although there is a free version, it only lets up to three users which won’t be enough for a growing business. At only $4/month, it’s beyond affordable for the functions you receive.

VERDICT

KadoNetwork is a great option for professionals and businesses that are looking for a digital business card with added networking functions such as syncing with your Outlook or Gmail accounts

Try KadoNetworks Here

10. CamCard

Best Business Card Organizer

CamCard works a little differently than the others on this list, but I thought it was important to include it. Unlike all the other options, it does not have the function to build a business card. It’s essentially the ultimate physical and electronic business card trader.

So why include this? Well, many people want to use their own designs for a business card instead of using one of the templates provided by other sites. One popular choice is using an app like Canva to design your own business card, then you can upload it to CamCard for all your business card organization.

Some features of CamCard include:

  • Quickly scan physical cards and the app auto-populates all of the contact information.

  • You can exchange electronic cards with other friends while you’re marketing.

  • Add notes to business cards so you can remember where you met them, what you discussed, etc.

Pricing: There’s a free option to download, but know you will have ads to deal with. If you want the ad-free version for an individual, the cost is $46.99 per year.

Here are a few business plans for companies available:

VERDICT

CamCard is the ultimate business card organizer but unfortunately does not make digital business cards itself. It’s great for those using another platform to design their cards.

Try camcard Here

11. Canva

Best for Designing Business Cards

Canva is a great option for those who are looking to have both physical and digital cards. It is a designing app with thousands of professional templates. This allows you to use these designs to both print out business cards, as well as upload them to a card organizer like CamCard where you can send and receive them.

Here are some great things about Canva Templates:

  • Thousands of templates to choose from that are organized by field of work and design (music, yoga, landscaping, and hundreds more).

  • You can print these designs for physical business cards as well as upload them to business card sharing apps.

  • Unlimited formatting options to include whatever information you would like.

  • If you want to have a digital card, as well as continue to print the physical cards, you can have the best of both worlds with their business card prints

Pricing: There’s a free option, but if you want access to the “pro” designs, then you’ll want to upgrade.

VERDICT

Canva is the ultimate business card design machine. This is perfect if you want to design both a digital and physical business card.

What Are Digital Business Cards?

A digital business card is a modern version of a physical business card. You can create them on your phone or website, and then send/receive them electronically by NFC technology, QR codes, email, social media, and more!

With the world moving virtually, there are a ton of reasons why businesses should consider moving their cards to the digital realm. Here are just a few of those reasons:

  • SAVE MONEY: Sick of reprinting those business cards every time there’s a title change or new employee in your company? If you’re a business looking to save money where you can, this switch to digital business cards can save you the printing fees.

  • SAVE TIME: In just a few clicks, any new employee can have a business card up and running.

  • UPDATEABLE: You can update your Teams business cards with just a few clicks of a button. And even better, you can control the template of your entire workforce. Logo change? No issue.

  • Environmentally-Friendly: If you’re a company that values being energy efficient, than digital cards will save quite a few trees.

  • Enhance the Client Experience: When your talking to potential partners or customers, nothing looks cooler than you sending that digital card. Plus, you can ensure they won’t throw it in the trash as soon as you leave.

  • No Space Limits: Remember the days when you were trying to cram as much information on that physical card? Well now you can add everything you want, plus much more promotional content such as video embeds, website links, and pay features.

How Do I Create My Own Digital Business Card

You can create a digital business card using one of the many online tools or mobile apps. Each app has its own way to design a business card, so following the prompts of each company is best.

How Do I Organize My Virtual Business Cards

Now, some apps are all-in-one (where you can design your business card, send, receive, and organize them). If you already have an electronic business card designed through a template app, then you can store and organize your business cards on a business card organizing app such as CamCard.

How Do I Send and Receive a Digital Business Card

If you use an all-in-one app like HiHello or SwitchIt, then you can send or receive cards through the apps with a click of a few buttons. If you have an NFC app like Popl, it only takes a wave of the phone to send over your business profiles.

Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs)

What should go on a digital business card?

An electronic business card should have the following information:

  • Your name and title

  • The company name, logo, and website

  • Basic contact info including phone number, email, and address if appropriate

  • Professional social media accounts such as Twitter, Linked-in, or Instagram

How do you make a digital business card?

Digital business cards are quite easy to create. Simply choose the company you wish to sign-up with (Blinq, Popl, and Beaconstac are popular choices). From there, they have created an easy way to customize the landing page your prospective clients or partners will see. For a more in-depth answer, I have created a step-by-step guide for you.

If you want a physical card, then an NFC digital business card would be a great option for you.

Here are the pros and cons of Warmly.ai:

  • I like the customization. You can change fonts and put the information on the left or bottom side of the screen.

  • You can add socials like LinkedIn, Twitter, and then even add some fun information about yourself.

  • There are many customizable backgrounds like blur, mountains, landscapes, etc, if you don’t want to show your background.

  • You can’t exchange email addresses, website URLs, and other contact information.

Pricing: Totally free for use. However, if you want customization options for enterprises, you can pay a subscription for those extra bells and whistles.

Verdict
