Organic Farming: The New Vacation

Sue Coppard was a secretary in London in 1971. she lived in countryside but she moved to city. She decided to organize an organic farming program. she said that everybody can work volunteery in farm and spend weekends there.

Sue put an ad in magazine, for farming volunteers. And soon after other organic farmers started asking for people’s help too. Some volunteers started WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms) to help organize different groups of volunteers and farmers. Now about 50 countries have WWOOF organization.

Many people now wish to live on farms for a long time and WWOOF give this chance to them to stay and work for even months. they also can learn gardening and farming.travelers also use WWOOF.

There are some differences between every WWOOF opportunity. For example in Sebria, there is a farm that is managing by a couple that is famous for its cheese and bread. A farm in Ecudor, teach how to plant yucca, peanut, and etc. And a farm in japan, teaches how to grow rice.

And at the end, l prefer you to do volunteer works on the weekends.
