Network Monitor End-of-Life, Connectivity Dashboard suggested replacement

The Spiceworks Network Monitor application will be deprecated as of Jan 20, 2020.

This is according to the Network Monitor strategy we have exposed in our Product Plan and in this Network Monitor Update post.

It is also worth noting that we have recently received a report detailing a vulnerability that affects the Network Monitor. We have decided to not release an update to patch the vulnerability and instead proceed now with the above mentioned plan to deprecate the product.
We will provide details on the vulnerability in our Security Center following the deprecated date to avoid exposing Network Monitor users to malicious exploit while they are evaluating a replacement product and migrating. We have removed the ability to download the product for new users and are recommending current users to stop using the product as soon as possible and seek a replacement solution.

The Spiceworks Connectivity Dashboard is the recommended replacement tool for those would want to keep using a free Spiceworks solution. It can monitor the availability of your most important infrastructure devices/IPs as well as your business critical websites, either running in your private data center or are part of the public internet (e.g SaaS). Once a device, IP or website is unreachable, the Connectivity Dashboard will send an email alert notifying you and your selected co-workers of the problem (this new feature will be released very soon).

The Connectivity Dashboard is integrated as part of Spiceworks ecosystem of cloud tools with the Spiceworks Cloud Help Desk and Inventory online tools.

On Jan 20, 2020 Network Monitor will not be supported anymore, so we strongly encourage you to explore the Connectivity Dashboard capabilities or any of the great monitoring solutions exposed on the Spiceworks platform here.

We hope to see you in the Connectivity Dashboard soon!

The Spiceworks team.
