Well, I am sure the wave is a solid pourover device, I have to say the Hario is smooth sailing as well though I have never used the wave. Amazon warehouse has the Haro for 30ish dollars but at the 70 dollar price of the wave, if you do not have a way to really accurately control the temp like a high quality induction, I would say the Bonavita Gooseneck variable temperature kettle currently going for 69 dollars at many sites would be the best option. Pouring is only part of the equation, and I would have to say that having total control of the temp would far outweigh the possible gains in pour control when comparing the two goosenecks. If you have a high quality induction that can get you within a few degrees (I use the stovetop on a long 2 setting for a normal electric, but that is lacking in accuracy so I am always fumbling around with my thermoprobe…) then there is nothing wrong with splurging on the nicer kettle. Got to have that temp control though or its just a waste of time really…
