Married at First Sight
Married at First Sight updates and spoilers are updated new here at SD. We deliver the latest on MAFS including on-screen and off-screen drama.
MAFS started on FYI then moved to Lifetime and broke the 12 season mark across both networks in 2021. Season 13 of MAFS heads to Houston, Texas to get strangers wedded.
Based on a show from Denmark of the same name – Gift Ved Første Blik – this is a fan-favorite show that delivers the drama every week. Married at First Sight always polarizes fans and usually delivers the angst.
Some of the most notorious MAFS participants that got the “villain edit” include Chris Williams (MAFS, Season 12, Atlanta). Then, there was hoopster Matt Gwynne from Season 9 in North Carolina.
In Season 10 of Married at First Sight in Washington, DC, two of the males drew constant criticism. One was Brandon Reid, who couldn’t handle the cameras and raged at other cast members.
Plus, there was Zach Justice, who rejected wife Mindy Shiben almost from the moment they said “I do” and drew the wrath of the experts for sidestepping questions and hiding his intentions on Married at First Sight.
There are three MAFS experts currently on the show – Dr. Calvin Roberson, a pastor from Atlanta. Then, there’s Dr. Pepper Schwarz, a therapist from Seattle, Washington.
And Married at First Sight added Dr. Viviana Coles, an intimacy therapist from Houston, Texas. She replaced Dr. Jessica Griffin who left MAFS to pursue love with cast member Jon Francetic – and got her happily ever after.
Married at First Sight spawned eight spinoff shows. These include The First Year, Married Life, Second Chances, Jamie and Doug Plus One, Honeymoon Island, Happily Ever After, Couples Cam, and most recently, Unmatchables.
Only the last three follow-up shows remain on the air at present.
