Love at First Sight ! (Blog 9) #10blogs10days | Marriage,#Fiction,#10Blogs10Days | Blog Post by Indrani Bhattacharjee | Momspresso

‘It was love at first sight !’ Cupid struck Dipa’s and Indra’s hearts just as soon they exchanged glances on the freshers welcome day at their college. They were in love right from the first year of college. They were one of the most adorable love-birds entirely and intensely in love with each other.

Indra was aware of Dipa’s feelings for him. The way she used to observe him in class either hiding behind a friend, sitting in the front row or sometimes peeping above the book by holding it to conceal her face within, was something that would made Indra’s heart beat, even faster.

It was the Valentine’s day and Indra proposed her. She accepted but informed Indra that her family was absolutely conservative and that they may not accept him as her father always wanted to let her marry according to his choice.

But nothing actually seemed to be impossible for them as they were simply head-over-heels in love with each other.

The college days passed rapidly and just after they graduated, while Indra was about to join his father’s business, Dipa’s father on the other hand insisted her to get married.

Dipa confessed that she loves someone else. His father being just so adamant, asked her that if she doesn’t marry the boy of his choice, he will not keep any relationship with his own daughter. Dipa’s mother too forced her to get married to the person they have chosen. After much emotional turmoil that went on for some days, Dipa felt helpless and surrendered in front of their parents. She  gave her consent to marry the person her parents had chosen.

She informed Indra that her parents were forcing her to get married to another guy and she just failed to turn them down.

With a broken heart, Indra too decided to get married to the girl his parents once told him about. Though they never forced Indra, but he insisted them that he is ready for the marriage and asked them that they may start preparing for the marriage as soon as possible.

With all preparations, the marriage day finally arrived. Relatives gathered from both the bride’s and groom’s places to bless the couple as they were about to tie the knot.

At the mandap, Indra and Dipa came close to exchange the garlands, looked at each other, amazed and awestruck….. and it was ‘love at first sight !’
