No Minimum Custom T-Shirts Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS)

What makes a product no minimum?
A no minimum product consists of ideal material for digital printing (also known as DTG or Direct-To-Garment). We have extensively tested these fabrics and are confident that the ink will adhere properly to the fibers of the fabric and yield beautiful results. Traditionally, 100% cotton was the recommended material for digital print. Our technology has evolved, our machines and inks have improved, and now we can confidently offer some cotton/poly blends, triblends, fleece, and more as no minimum options for digital printing. It feels great to offer more options to meet customer needs.

How does digital printing work?
Digital print is tech-based. We use a computer to send the art file to the digital print machine. Then, the machine uses CMYK color matching to print the design directly onto the material, similar to how a computer printer prints on paper. One benefit is that we are not limited to the number of ink colors, and can achieve high levels of details (such as a photograph) very easily.

Is there a maximum for digital print?
Technically, no. However, in the 12-35 piece range is when we may recommend switching to screen print. The print method used on an order depends on the complexity of the artwork and the number of ink colors needed. Please contact us if you have questions or concerns about what print method is best for your order.

Why can’t I order one dri-fit/performance shirt?
The 100% polyester material and our digital print machines clash. The ink does not adhere properly to the material. Our goal is to provide the best print outcome possible that we know will last. The print method we use on polyester fabric is screen printing, which has a low minimum of 6 pieces.

Why can’t I order one pocket tee?
Unfortunately, with digital printing, we are unable to line up a design to print on or above a pocket. However, we do have cotton t-shirt options with a pocket. If you are flexible to print on the right chest (opposite side of the pocket) and/or back of the shirt, we can assist with getting a no minimum order processed. Save your design in our Design Studio and contact us for further assistance.

Can I print on the sleeve?
Yes, we are able to print on the sleeve. Our website is set up to design and quote a two-placement design (front and back). If a third placement, such as the sleeve, is needed, we will need to provide a custom quote and help finalize your order. If you need a front and sleeve design, use the “back” placement in our Design Studio and place your design on the sleeve. Once saved, you can proceed with checkout and be priced appropriately for the two placements (front and sleeve in this example).

Can I print a sample for a large order later on?
You can order a single item on any no minimum product, but this may not be a true sample when preparing for a larger order. We will likely use a different print method, called screen print, on the large order. The colors, fine details, and texture of the two different print methods would be different. Please contact us to discuss the options for a sample in greater detail.

Can I PMS match on a one-piece order?
The Pantone Mixing System (PMS colors) is used in screen printing with coated plastisol inks. We use digital printing on smaller orders which uses CMYK color matching and water-based inks. We can set up the art file in the PMS color requested and our digital print machines will interpret the color to the best of their ability using CMYK color matching.

Will the design be that thick vinyl material?
No, digital printing and vinyl transfers are two different embellishment methods. Digital printing uses water-based inks that absorb into the fibers of the material and a vinyl transfer is material that gets applied on top of the fabric using a heat press. The outcome of digital print feels lighter than vinyl transfers.

Will the print be high-quality?
We stand by the quality of our print methods. Digital printing is high-quality but does have limitations. We recommend steering clear of neon and RGB color palettes. One important variable is the quality of the art file provided by the customer. A vector based art file vs. a raster image file can have different visual outcomes. Cheap custom shirts with no minimum order does not mean poor quality. In fact, the t-shirts we digitally print on are the same used by major corporations for screen printing. What is the best shirt for a one-piece order?
Anything labeled as no minimum has been thoroughly tested and given our stamp of approval for digital printing. The important part is finding the product that best suits your needs, personal preference, budget, size range, fabric color, branding guidelines, etc. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, contact us and let us help. What is the cost of one shirt?
