MI ECHO Summer Intern — MCAN
MCAN’s Michigan Equity, Courage, Hope, and Opportunity (MI ECHO) Scholarship Program is looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to help manage and sustain the scholarship program. MI ECHO is a tuition-free pathway for students who are not eligible for federal financial aid to pursue an associate degree or certificate program at any public community college or tribal college in Michigan. It is designed to serve DACA recipients, Temporary Protected Status immigrants, Special Immigrant Juveniles, and other populations who are excluded from most traditional financial aid opportunities.

Under the supervision of the strategy manager for strategic engagement, the summer intern will support MCAN’s communication efforts across all departments. Director of Higher Education Innovation — MCAN
The director of higher education innovation is a new position to MCAN that will co-develop and lead the organization’s strategies focused on systems change across Michigan’s higher education institutions. Under the supervision of the deputy director, the director of higher education innovation serves as a senior leader and supports various initiatives and projects focused across the higher education sector aligned to MCAN’s strategic plan, which expands the organizational scope to include a dedicated focus on college completion.

MCAN’s College Completion Corps places full-time AmeriCorps members on community college campuses to supplement campus efforts to increase persistence and completion of first-generation college-going students, low-income students, and students of color.

AdviseMI College Advisers — MCAN
MCAN is seeking college graduates to serve as AdviseMI college advisers in selected high schools across Michigan for the 2023-24 academic year, particularly in high schools that are located in communities with low college-going rates and low adult educational attainment rates. Serving alongside high school counselors and other school professionals, advisers support low-income students, first-generation college-going students, and students of color as they make the transition from high school to a postsecondary education institution.

This full-time position is for an experienced grant writer who will be responsible for writing grants, grant reports, funding letters, and proposals. Deputy Executive Director — Michigan Afterschool Partnership
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Deputy Executive Director has both internal and external facing responsibilities. The Deputy Executive Director partners closely with the Executive Director to chart MASP’s strategic response to organizational and field challenges. The Deputy Executive Director also works to create high engagement from staff, board, and partners to achieve MASP’s mission. The Deputy Executive Director plays a critical role in shaping and implementing the organization’s strategy and provides daily leadership by setting the operational and cultural tone of the organization.

Post-Secondary Transition Coach — Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars
The Post-Secondary Transition Coach, will work with a cohort of about 150 students in the Next Level Scholars Program. The primary focus area of coaching is the senior year, summer melt transition, and first year of post-secondary education. Working with this cohort of students, their families, and high school advisers, this person will guide them through the college application, selection, and enrollment process to ensure a smooth transition to post-secondary education.

DREAM Initiative Program Coordinator — Oakland University
The DREAM Initiative Program Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to lead this test of a prototype of a student support system designed to close the persistence and graduation gap between first generation students, low-income students, and underrepresented students and the campus-wide student performance.
