WCN’s mission to protect endangered wildlife by supporting conservationists who ensure wildlife and people co-exist and thrive, WCN has two main conservation strategies:
- Conservation Partner Support: Develop and support a strong network of highly effective conservationists worldwide to maximise conservation impacts across a diverse set of species. WCN identifies and supports these entrepreneurial leaders with access to donors and a range of resources and tools they need to be successful, including financial and technical investments.
- Crisis and Recovery Funds: Implement Wildlife Crisis and Recovery Funds to enhance range-wide impact for select species, through catalytic project-level investments in the best ideas.
Required Qualification, Skills & Abilities:
The “Must-haves”
- Experience building or growing a multi-million dollar generating team on a tight budget while treating donors as partners and achieving revenue targets.
- Demonstrated record of identifying, recruiting, and developing great people who achieve what they were hired to do. Specifically, WCN is looking for someone who can articulate how they foresee unlocking a team’s full potential to achieve higher levels of growth and performance.
- Demonstrated ability to assess and continually adjust processes within a small growing team, balancing efficiency and organisational culture.
- Experience managing a diverse, experienced and passionate team in a fast-paced and high growth environment. WCN is looking for an executive with outstanding emotional intelligence whose interpersonal skills have shown their ability to navigate a variety of workplace situations.
- Personally displayed, and infused in their team, a positive, problem-solving attitude, with an egoless attitude, that emphasises the organisational mission and the strengths of a collaborative approach.
Other Qualifications:
- 10 – 15 years’ experience in an operational management role, with preference for previous experience in donor engagement and outreach.
- Experience, sensitivity, and personal confidence to leverage the power and skills that each team member brings to WCN.
- Knowledge of financial management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to live and champion WCN’s values.
- Ability to build relationships and steward collaboration across all levels of an organisation and with its external partners.
- Strategic and operation planning, management and reporting.
- Ability to actively listen and effectively communicate organisational, departmental, and individual priorities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accountable for the strategic deployment and performance of WCN’s outreach and engagement human, physical, and technical resources, systems, and processes to ensure they support WCN’s growth, sustainability, and conservation impact.
- Accountable for working in close collaboration with existing staff to regularly revise strategies and procedures for public outreach and donor identification, recruitment, and stewardship, leading to:

- Goals for the relevant departments and individuals;
- Increasing proactivity for relevant departments;
- Identification, conversion, and retention of high end [100K+] individual, foundation and corporate donors;
- Contributing to raise upwards of $25 million a year as an organisation.
- Working with senior staff and engaging and empowering direct reports.

- Accountable for designing and implementing administrative, management, communications, internal communications, planning and reporting procedures that support data-driven decision making and efficient cross-departmental collaboration.
- Manages and supports the professional growth of the Director of Donor Engagement, Foundations Manager, the Director of Communications and Marketing.
- Maintain continuous lines of communication, keeping the Executive Director informed of all critical issues.
- Accountable for designing and implementing administrative, management, communications, internal communications, planning and reporting procedures that support data-driven decision making and efficient cross-departmental collaboration.
- Responsible for the ongoing enhancement of a professional and supportive office environment to attract, retain, and motivate a diverse staff of top-quality people, connecting everyone’s work to the organisational mission.
- Accountable for identifying and providing resources for professional development and overarching human resources services, ensuring that:
- WCN hires, onboards, develops and retains competent and qualified staff;

Compensation: Offered as per the qualification and experience.
