SMM: it is reported that Hyundai Motor Company launched the first electric minibus-County Electric, in the South Korean market to replace diesel buses with economical, environmentally friendly, safe and convenient County Electric.

The County Electric is 7.71m long and is equipped with a highly efficient and high-power 128-kWh lithium-ion polymer battery with a range of 250km when fully charged and can be configured with 15 to 33 seats.

Using the standard Combo 1 DC charging system (charging power is 150kW), the 128-kWh battery can be fully charged in 72 minutes, helping to ensure reliability. In addition, the bus can be recharged with a 220V socket at home, which takes 17 hours to be fully charged; the bus is also equipped with a 220V charger.

County Electric is not only economical and environmentally friendly, but also has strong power. Compared with diesel cars, the, County Electric accelerates 30 per cent faster at speeds of 50 km/h to 80 km/h per hour. In addition, the bus is equipped with an electronically controlled pneumatic hydraulic (AOH) brake system with a stronger brake disc that can cope with the increased weight of the vehicle due to the battery.

Hyundai has also equipped the bus with the latest safety technology to avoid accidents when passengers get on and off the bus. Ultrasonic sensors and other sensors are installed near the back door of the car to prevent passengers from suddenly closing the door when getting on and off the bus. In addition, when the passenger’s body part is caught by the door, such sensors also trigger a warning and automatically open the door to avoid injury. The ultrasonic sensor is also connected to the acceleration pedal of the bus, which stops the vehicle if it detects passenger movement. The, County Electric is also equipped with a virtual engine sound system and a rear parking assist system to send an alarm to pedestrians and prevent accidents.

The County Electric is also equipped with a double swinging rear emergency door, a seat with a 220mm high backrest and a new seat belt system that relieves abdominal pressure during emergency braking. After replacing the diesel engine with a motor, the vehicle can have more space to facilitate passengers to get on and off the bus.

The battery of the minibus has the following functions:

1. The battery monitoring system can automatically cut off the power supply when the battery is abnormal.

2. The overcharge prevention system can check the battery voltage when charging and cut off the power supply when the abnormal voltage is detected.

3. Equipped with safety plug, which can cut off the power supply of the power system during vehicle maintenance.

9. The auxiliary braking system uses the shift pick attached to the steering wheel to adjust the regenerative braking force of four kinds of strength, so that the braking force can be adjusted without braking operation.
