How to Claim a Business on Google Places

Navigate to Google Places.

Sign in with your Google login details. If you don’t have a Google login from online services like YouTube, Google Maps or Gmail, you can click on the “Sign Up” button on the top right of the screen to set up your account.

Click on the “Add a New Business” button on the Google Places homepage.

Search for your business by phone number to see if an entry already exists. On the Find Your Business tab, select the country where your business is located from the drop-down list, type in your phone number and click on the “Find Business Information” button.

Click “Add a New Listing” once you have verified that no listing for your business exists.

Complete the requested information for your business, including business name, address, telephone number and website. Click on “Next.”

Fill out any additional information you would like to provide about your business, such as hours of operation, payment options, business category, photos or video. Pay close attention to the preview of your listing that appears on the right side of the screen and adjusts to any new information you provide.

Choose a verification option for your listing — either phone, SMS or mail — and click on the “Finish” button.

Verify your listing by navigating to Google Places, logging in and locating your business on the Find Your Business tab, as before. Click on the listing and enter the unique PIN number you received by phone, SMS or mail to verify and activate the account.
