Greyhound Bus Lines | BusTickets.com

Children between the ages of 12-16 that travel unaccompanied must have a completed Unaccompanied Child Form and pay the full fare.

Buying tickets
Unaccompanied children traveling must pay the full fare

You can only buy tickets for unaccompanied children in person, at the departing Greyhound station – you can’t do it online

We’ll also require you to fill out an Unaccompanied Child Form when you buy the ticket. These forms can only be filled out at a Greyhound station so that we can verify your ID and get consent for the child to travel and be picked up by a designated person at the other end. These precautions help ensure the safety of all children traveling with us

Here’s an overview of the information you’ll need to provide in the Unaccompanied Child Form:
The name, contact details and signature of the person who is giving permission for the child to travel (the child’s parent or legal guardian)

The departing and arriving destination of the child’s trip

The name and contact details of the person picking up the child at the final destination

Unaccompanied Travel Restriction
Things you need to know before booking a trip for an unaccompanied child:

The trip should be direct (no transfers)
The trip can be a maximum of 8 hours in duration (each way), between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

The departing and arriving stations must be full serviced agencies or company operated facilities. (not curbside stops) The station should be scheduled to be open when the child’s bus is scheduled to arrive. Use our bus stop location tool to help you find these important details

The person named on the Unaccompanied Child Form who is meeting the child must have positive photo ID, such as a driver’s license or state-issued ID card. Without the correct ID, the child may be released into the custody of Child Protective Services or to local law enforcement

A $15 fee (or $30 for a round-trip) must be paid at the point of purchase for each child traveling unaccompanied

Exceptions may apply for travel related to the Home Free, Job Corp or similar Greyhound supported programs. Please see ticket agent for details.
