A quick story behind this Google Tag Manager blog

Welcome to my blog, dedicated to Google Tag Manager. I also cover other topics related to web analytics, but GTM takes the main spot.

When I started using Google Tag Manager in 2013/2014, I struggled with almost everything. There was from little to no information about how to get started and achieve something meaningful. iI addition to that, the user interface was clunky and difficult to understand.

At that time, there were only a few actionable tutorials available for non-developers (like myself), so all I managed to implement was only a basic Google Analytics Pageview tag. And that’s it!

But everything changed in 2015 when the Google Tag Manager V2 was introduced. A totally redefined user interface, much clearer workflow, auto-event listeners, and most importantly – a rapidly growing number of Google Tag Manager online courses and tutorials.

I was consuming new information like crazy and got really hooked up with GTM. But there was still something missing. A lot of resources were scattered across the web, which I found really inconvenient.

Why don’t I just start writing my own Google Tag Manager blog?, I asked myself.

A lot of doubts… There was already Simo Ahava’s blog, where he was posting amazing GTM-related stuff. But the more I learned about Tag Manager, the more I saw a need for yet another Google Tag Manager blog.

Why? Because the niche is not over-crowded, yet (as of writing this in 2016 or 2017). I still find topics that are not covered or could be covered more comprehensively.

So here I am, sharing my thoughts, ideas, new discoveries, hoping that you’ll find it useful too. And the positive feedback from my readers keeps me going even further!

I also send a newsletter 3-4 times a month with the latest updates. If you think this Google Tag Manager blog is worth following, consider subscribing (by downloading any of the resources below)
