Global Volunteer Network Foundation – GuideStar Profile

The GVN Foundation has granted over US$2 million to partners around the world since 2005. Each of the communities we work with is at a different level of self-sufficiency, but funds granted have made a difference to the areas we are supporting.

Our main focus continues to be:
– Child Nutrition: this has flow on effects on health, energy levels, school enrollment/attendance, reduces food costs within the family and supports the local economy
– Education: this improves future prospects
– Women’s Empowerment: projects that empower women have flow on effects for the family and the wider community, and can often assist in generating an income
– Sustainability: moving towards a model where income generation projects are established within communities to financially support schools, nutrition projects and other ongoing costs. This reduces the reliance on external donations and support on an ongoing basis.
