Entry-level business analysts, or junior business analysts, support the collection and analysis of data for a business or organization, providing better solutions, technology integration, or systems improvements. As an entry-level business analyst, you most likely work as part of a business solutions team under more senior analysts as you receive on-the-job training and become more familiar with your responsibilities and duties. Your particular tasks may include generating reports, performing detailed research and analysis, and assisting with solution development. With experience you may progress to more senior analyst positions with greater responsibilities.

A job as an entry-level business analyst requires you have some formal qualifications and education, typically at least a bachelor’s degree in business analytics, administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. Much of your job is focused on creating and applying technological solutions to business problems for your employer or a client, so additional education in information technology can set you ahead of other job seekers. You must have excellent communication skills to communicate to stakeholders both in administration and IT departments, creating compromise solutions on projects when necessary.
