Dragon City element weakness chart

Collecting a city of dragons is heaps of fun, but venturing into a PvP battle with the wrong crowd is not, and so, we’ve compiled a complete Dragon City element weakness chart so you can get a clear idea of which dragons you should use based on your opponent’s elements.

As you probably know by now, in Dragon City you will build a city, breed and evolve tens of dragons and come up with new species to add to your collection. It’s a terrific game that is super fun to play if you manage to get the basics down.

We’re going to start off by explaining what each Element means, how it works when it comes to breeding dragons, and all that good stuff. So let’s get started, shall we?

The main (primary) element

Each dragon will have at least one element. That will be their main element, which is what the Dragon City element weakness chart below will refer to. All subsequent elements will not have a strength or weakness, so that’s something to keep in mind when trying to counter-pick.

Each Dragon can have more than one element, and up to 4 elements. While these won’t affect that dragon’s weaknesses/strengths, they will affect how many moves that dragon can learn.

A dragon will always deal double damage to a specific element (well, not always, it depends on the element), typically to its opposing element. Think of it as fire counters ice, ice counters nature, electric counters metal and so on. The main opposing element will always take 2x the damage from its counter. They will also deal half the damage against the one that counters them (for instance, flame will deal half the damage to sea, since it’s a countering element).
