Blogger Spotlight: G from Plaaastic | The Fashion Supernova
My Blogger Spotlight is on G from Plaaastic this time around! She’s Vietnamese and has been living in Singapore since she was 15. G has spent 4 years of her life travelling across all the countries in Asia for charity work and single-handedly founded her own independent fashion company called Plaaastic! All of the profits were donated to charity, which is wonderful! G had to shut the shop down for now as she’s heading out to Africa later this year, but she’s still doing her stylist work and designing clothes for other brands. She has such a quirky and unique sense of style! It’s sort of 90’s grunge mixed with some modern pieces. I love her photos! Check out her interview below and see some of her photos!
What’s your history in the fashion industry?
I first started out making my own fashion brand, named “plaaastic! clothing”. At that time, I was 16-17, and I realized all of the “cyber” clothes that I loved were too overpriced for a teenager like me. So I started out the brand selling clothes of my own design, which were unique, yet affordable. Half a year later, I made the Plaaastic! blog, which I have continued with since then.
What made you decide to start your fashion blog?
The reason is kind of awkward: I am a lonely person and I was really bored. I wanted to have a space where I can share my style, my writing and my travels with the people who will understand it. My blog is where I can be myself and speak my mind.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
My inspiration is mainly from my Tumblr dashboard. I don’t know how I would live without Tumblr!
How would you describe your personal style?
Goth on the road. I travel a lot, and I am a dancer, so if my clothes are not comfortable, I’m not wearing them.
Do you have some favourite pieces in your closet?
My favorite piece is definitely my tie dye hoodie, my AA tennis skirt and my Dr Martens Jadon. Also black nail polish and bindis go with everything
What one thing can’t you be without?
My iPad mini. 32 GB of music and still updating!
