Aldi Electric Vegetable Spiralizer
Aldi will have the Ambiano Electric Vegetable Spiralizer available as an ALDI Find the week of 4/20/22 for $34.99. If you are not familiar with spiralizers they are made to turn vegetables or fruits into ribbons or spirals resembling noodles. This type of machine can make things like zucchini noodles or curly fries giving you the option to make some unique dishes. Aldi’s Spiralizer gives you three options: large spirals, shredded spirals, and wide ribbons. I assume the large spirals will work for zucchini noodles and curly fries. I am not sure if the shredded spiral attachment just shreds or if it is a spiral type cut that is then cut short or thin. A ribbon cut will generally make a wide thin “noodle” that can be used in a lot of different ways.

Is the Aldi Electric Spiralizer a Good Deal?
Looking at the options on Amazon it seems like a good Electric Spiralizer is going to go for $40-45. This Hamilton Beach Electric Spiralizer is selling for around $45 and has similar features to the Ambiano. To be honest though if I was buying a spiralizer today I wouldn’t buy either of these because I don’t like that type of Spiralizer. This type limits this size of veggies you can spiralize and you have to stop to empty when it is full. It will also take up a decent amount of space in your cupboard.
For the Serious Spiralizer
If I did a lot of spiralized veggies or fruits I would get one like this BELLA Automatic Electric Spiralizer & Slicer which is open on the sides so you can use pretty large fruits or vegetables without a big issue. The spiralizers that force the produce to go into a tube first limit you one the size or produce you can use. An open model like this will let you do apples, big zucchini, and large potatoes without cutting them first.
And I would actually probably go a bit cheaper and go with a manual version for about half the price. This stainless steel model should last a long time and be very versatile. I would opt for the electric version if I was making large batches of spiralized fruits or veggies. If I am just doing a meal’s worth at a time I think I would opt for the manual so I don’t have to worry about the motor or being close enough to an outlet.
Small and Efficient Spiralizer
Now for the spiralizer that I actually own and use: the OXO Good Grips Handheld Spiralizer. This sells for about $22 right now and takes up about the same space as a coffee mug. It is likely more work and a bit slower than the other manual one but it is really small and makes pretty quick work of a zucchini. I would recommend this if you only use it here and there and don’t plan to use it for really wide/large produce. If you are doing a lot of spirals at once or using it every day go ahead and get one of the bigger ones but if you just use it here or there or have limited storage space this one works great!
