We’re back at it again with another BBQ post, because honestly who can ever get enough barbecue? Well, our relationship with WNY’s BBQ is a serious one, and this time we are highlighting all the best places to get your BBQ fix at an inexpensive price.

Now let’s be clear that these spots are equally budget-friendly and delicious. Another reason why we love our city: you can absolutely have it both ways. There is no sacrifice here, only amazing food with an equally amazing price. Our cheap guides series can help you experience the best WNY foods and enable you to try a little bit of everything without breaking the bank.

From all the best barbeque meats to drool-worthy mac n’ cheese, there is nothing quite like a BBQ meal. Since “cheap” can mean something different for everyone, we’ve set our price range at around $12 per meal. Thankfully, these BBQ meals include all the goods, so you really get some bang for your buck. We have a little bit of everything on this list: soul food, elegant BBQ creations, Texas-inspired, and even diner style. Read on and enjoy all of the juicy pics. This place is definitely in our WNY BBQ hall of fame. They even have national recognition as one of the best BBQ spots in the entire state. Anyway, lucky for us not only are they right here in Buffalo but their award-winning food is not breaking your bank. They have several menu options below or around our price limit. They also have daily meal deals and different combo options for larger plates.

South Transit BBQ specializes in homemade recipes, run by owners Don and Victoria who are entirely passionate about their custom BBQ recipes. The best part? Nearly their entire menu of BBQ specials is within our cheap (and delicious) range, from handhelds to plates and even wagyu specials. To top it all off, they have an entire Gluten-Free menu as well, something for everyone.

Almost everything on this menu is around or below our price range. Freddy J’s is crafted BBQ with classic and elegant creations. If you’re looking for true soul food BBQ, this is the spot. You can order takeout online and through Grubhub. Elegance, soul food, and inexpensive-what more could you ask?

Self-proclaimed “simple craft BBQ”, Yankee is a great spot for all of the classics. Their sandwiches are well within our price range and are absolutely mouth watering. Their meat prices are based upon weight so depending on your portion those prices may vary. Their wide assortment of amazing sides are pretty cheap and well worth your while. A great spot for some craft BBQ without a heavy price tag.

27 Chandler St Buffalo / More Info

Southern Junction has a lovely and delicious twist on traditional BBQ. Their “texish-style” BBQ is a Texas-style barbeque with Indian influences. It makes for a unique and different BBQ experience with all the juiciness included. Their prices are mostly by the pound so prices may vary, but they range from the top of our price range complimented by appetizing sides.

If you’re looking for a classic American style BBQ- aka diner meets BBQ- then this is the place. Their menu is huge and almost all of their classic BBQ options are within our price range. We are drawn to their authentic diner vibe, and it makes for yet another unique experience. This is a great spot for some homestyle BBQ and classic meals.

A Buffalo gem and famed classic, we are certain that Fat Bob’s deserves its place on our BBQ list. You can in fact enjoy a famous spot, on the cheap too. We recommend going for their handheld sandwiches and mac n’ cheese, but they have a wide variety of options. Their meats are also by the pound and so depending on your desired portion, this can be a great affordable option as well. They also have family-sized options that can work out to be in our price range per serving.
