30 Awesome Review Bloggers You Should Follow Now | SurveyBee.net

How many times have you wandered cluelessly around the supermarket trying to buy the right product? How much time did you spend on the internet looking for the perfect vacation, trying to make it fit your budget, your family’s preferences and so on? Should we also mention the times you waited impatiently for that impossible-to-get restaurant reservation, and the food turned out to be less than you expected?

It happens even to the most informed and organized of us. In our consumption-obsessed society, every day seems to be a search for the right product. The food you eat, the places you go for entertainment, the movies you watch and the books you read, the latest products for child care, fashion and beauty items – all of these are part of our daily routine.

Choosing all these can be hard. We enjoy the benefits of easy access to digital information, but, most of the time, the infinite options end up confusing us. Searching can take up time, effort and even money. Luckily, there are people who can come to our help. Either as a business or as a spare time hobby, many bloggers review their favorite products. Then they share with us their best experiences, so that we can explore the right options with just the click of a mouse. We have rounded up 30 of the best review bloggers of 2015 and got some insight from some of them on what are the highlights and hardest parts of their activity.

____________________

“There have been several highlights to my blogging career! I absolutely love being on the forefront of new products, so being able to get to see them (sometimes straight out of first production) is pretty awesome. I really enjoy the opportunities to help people by sharing my view, and the amazing opportunities that enhance my family’s life that are sent my way.

The hardest part of being a review blogger is definitely deadlines, especially during the holidays- which are very busy for me considering my day job as a mail carrier. Reviews need to be up quickly, and it can become overwhelming when several items come each day, and then there are many social media posts that you need to do to help promote the post. I’ve learned that I need to accept opportunities wisely and not overburden myself. It can also be difficult to write a negative review. There are times when you just can’t love a product. While I try to find positive points, my readers need to know the negative aspects of a product as well- and I’m always honest in my reviews.”

“The highlight of being a blogger is the stream of comments and emails that I receive from readers telling me how my blog has inspired their relationship with books and reading.

I choose to devote a lot of time to a single book. I carefully read with a pen and highlighter nearby. I write both a preliminary review and a post-reading review, I pick and choose quotes, and I photograph. Dedicating this much time to a single book does prevent me from reading as many different books as I would like, and given the sheer number of books that I would like to read, this has proven difficult. However, I do think we too often hurry through books, passively consuming page and page without pausing to think or to jot down ideas, so for better or for worse, reviewing books does prevent this from happening.”

It is a delight to her to see that others are motivated to travel after reading her blog:

____________________

“I have only been blogging for a little over a year now, but the biggest highlight during my career was when I gained regular readers. Of course it was exciting when I got my first sponsored post and big brands wanted to work with me, but my blog wouldn’t exist without my readers. It makes me so happy to see people who have been reading my blog since the beginning and hearing that some of my posts have inspired them to travel and be open to new experiences.

I love sharing reviews in hopes that it will inspire others to travel and try new experiences. However, being a review blogger isn’t always as glamorous as it appears. I am constantly observing my surroundings and noting each and every detail so no page is left unturned. Most of my travels are with my fiancé and sometimes he gets annoyed when we are out eating and I have to position the food just right for that perfect photo. Sometimes I just want to take time and enjoy the moment without being in the work-mode, but being a review blogger is so rewarding and I love sharing experiences with my readers.”

And they have an impressing list of destinations that undoubtedly will awaken your inner wanderer. If you don’t know where to start, the blog also offers useful resources and product reviews for a perfect journey. It even shows you how to start a travel blog! Erin was kind enough to share some thoughts with us:

____________________

“The delightful emails I get from a client once a post goes live. I love the satisfaction of writing something incredible and showing it off with the best photography. Even better is when a post goes viral for a small town no one visits. The article got in the paper, on the local radio station and hopefully introduced the destination to a whole new group of visitors.

Being organised is the hardest part. As we are nomadic it is very hard for us to commit to a destination weeks in advance, let alone months. It makes working with brands much harder since they don’t work on the same last minute schedule we do.”

Her amazing photos from her trips and restaurant reviews will most certainly make your mouth water and get to make time for check out that restaurant you have been thinking about for a while. She shared with us the highlight and the hardest part of her career:

____________________

“I once wrote a blog post on a 3 star Michelin restaurant called Victor’s Gourmet Restaurant. In the article I wrote about how extraordinary that meal was and how it was the meal of my life. Two years after I visited that restaurant someone emailed me to say that they had just visited Victor’s and that they too loved it! They also told me that the reason they visited Victor’s Gourmet Restaurant was because they had read my article two years earlier and so decided to go to the restaurant. I was thrilled that I was the inspiration for their visit!

I blog because it is my passion. I don’t make money from blogging and I do it in my spare time. I also hold down a full time job. Because of that, I find that the hardest part of blogging is actually finding the time to blog and juggling blogging with work, a social life, and all the other activities and responsibilities in my life.”

His restaurant reviews feature good food for every budget so it’s impossible not to get inspiration for your next culinary adventure! Although it’s not hard to imagine what keeps Gil motivated, that is getting recognition for reviwing delicious food, we asked him to share the best and hardest parts of blogging:

____________________

“The highlight of my career as a blogger is meeting so many wonderful people. I’m often asked by people who value my restaurant reviews why I would provide such a service without being paid for it. It’s a question I stopped asking myself years ago. Over the past twenty years of writing about restaurants, my social circle has expanded widely to include many wonderful people I would not otherwise have had the honor and privilege to now call friends. I’ve received effusive gratitude, enthusiastic praise and even the occasional criticism, but this isn’t about ego. I’d write about restaurants even if no one read my reviews. The fact is many people do read my every word and they use my recommendations to help them decide where to dine. Most indications are that I have not led too many people astray.

The most difficult part of being a review blogger is in not always sharing the enthusiasm some restaurateurs and chefs have for their establishments. I believe most restaurateurs and chefs are sincere in their desire to provide memorable dining experiences and excellent food for their guests. They don’t intentionally set forth to serve bad food or provide bad service, but it does happen on occasion. Far be it for me to be overly critical, especially of independently owned “mom-and-pop” eateries struggling to gain a foothold in a tough market.”

“The highlight of my blogging/freelance career so far is my partnership with Dove last year. The brand hired me to be their Spokesperson for an activation with E! and The Emmys. I was in two E! commercials representing the brand and was able to report on beauty trends with E! live from the red carpet at the Emmys. It was a dream come true.

The hardest thing about reviewing beauty products for my blog is the fact that I don’t have time to write about all of them. I’m often so impressed by new technology that I’d love to cover more than I actually do. Sometimes I take to social media to express my love for a new product, because it’s quicker and to the point.”

“Although there hasn’t been one specific moment for me that was a highlight, it’s amazing to have your work recognised and gain positive feedback from brands and readers.

The hardest part would be finding the time to do it all. People really underestimate what goes into blogging but it feels like being a one-person business.”

Emily from EmilyLoula

“The highlight of my blogging career so far is being able to attend some fantastic events, meet some great brands and some other lovely bloggers that I’m lucky enough to be able to call my friends. One of my reviews was also posted in a BuzzFeed article which was really exciting, and gained me a lot of traffic!

I think the hardest thing about being a review blogger is being able to capture the exact product how I’m able to see it. For example, it can be tricky to get lipstick swatches to look on camera as they do in person. I really try to make the lipsticks and swatches look as they do in real life, so my readers can be totally sure before committing to a purchase.”

“I think the highlight of my blogging career would be when my blog reached one million views. It’s nice to know that people love visiting my blog and I never imagined all those years ago, when I started that so many people would be interested in what I have to say.

The hardest thing is always being ready at a specific time in a day to take pictures for the review. You really learn to appreciate those precious hours of the best light you get a day. But sometimes you feel so creative at a completely different time and it’s annoying that you have to wait for the best light to realize your ideas.”

“The highlight of my blogging career has been when I was first contacted by a company to do a sponsored post. It meant that my hard work slowly but surely paying off. Another important highlight would be the encouragement I get through the comments my readers leave for me when they have enjoyed reading a blog post.

The hardest part would be the expense when it comes to purchasing the products to review. As I am still not making a steady income through my blog I need to balance my expenses and buy products that I think my readers and I both will love. It can be quite tempting to buy everything other beauty bloggers recommend but you need to figure out what will suit your blog the best.”
