Really Sharp Points

I purchased this at Sam’s club and I thought it was a good price. I am an artist who uses colored pencils a lot. I am always having problems getting my pencils really sharp. This sharpener works well for this. I like the fact that it will stop when the pencil gets to it’s point. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it is easy to dump the shavings but it is very difficult to clean the inside of the cover. Other than that, it is a great sharpener.

Does what it should.

It works great and has a small form factor, so it doesn’t hog your desk. It’s nice that the whole thing can be unplugged (just hold the cord with something else so you don’t have to re-tuck it behind your desk), because when you go to dump the shavings, you really have to, since the shavings cup has a hole on the bottom to enable vertical sharpening. It’s a slight down-side, but it’s not annoying.

I’m here though because I broke a pencil tip or something in my sharpener and now the auto-start/stop is working very erratically… I was hoping to find some answers, but I guess I’ll just unplug and take it apart soon. Saw all the bad reviews and thought this could use a boost, since apparently people don’t leave reviews on brand websites unless they’re unhappy (true of many brands it seems).

It’s worked great for a year, and I’m the guy who likes writing with sharp pencil tips, so it’s very handy. If I can’t fix it, I’ll see if Costco will replace it.

Excellent

My ipoint electric sharpener just stopped working after over 2 years. I used it often to sharpen pencils for the classroom so I went through a ton of pencils a day. I am surprised another customer got a dud because mine was great.
