What’s Enterprise like?
Enterprise has long been praised for its five-star customer service, but it’s never been a budget option. Yet it gets four stars for value and has kept price rises at bay better than any other major provider.
It says it’s avoided passing on extra costs to customers by hanging on to vehicles for longer, moving them between branches to meet demand and working with manufacturers to secure more vehicles. It also says that customers can find the best prices by being flexible on location – airport locations are always more expensive than town-centre desks for example. The company’s new rigorous cleaning protocols between rentals impressed in our survey – 90% of Which? members rated the cleanliness of their Enterprise car last year as good, or excellent.
Enterprise has also ditched its fees if you’ve paid in advance but have to change your plans due to Covid, or any other reason. For some bookings, there’s no charge for cancellations and amendments right up to the collection date. And for the rest, you can cancel for free up to three days before pick-up.
One reader succinctly summed up the Enterprise experience: ‘I’ve consistently found Enterprise customer service to be good and helpful. While they’re not the cheapest supplier, I find they are good value for money, and don’t push extras hard, and have a remarkably reasonable wear and tear policy’.
Should I book with Enterprise?
Enterprise has done its best to keep price rises to a minimum, and in the words of our survey respondents, it is ‘dependable, straightforward and pragmatic, with excellent customer service.’ And its Covid refund policy is first class. So our verdict is a confident thumbs up.
