Wifi network adapter keep disabling in Windows 10 | Microsoft Surface tablet
My Asus laptop runs Windows 10 v1809 and has Realtek 8822CE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC. Recently the system has been upgraded to versions 20H2. However, when I play online game or browse website, the network connection always suddenly disconnect. Within the device manager, the network adapter is disabled and then re-enabled by itself minutes later. I uninstall the Wifi adapter and install the latest version of driver and nothing changes. How can I resolve the problem?
The Windows 10 20H2 update kinda mess the adapter up, and Wi-Fi adapter keeps disabling by itself. That happens on my asus tuf A15 FX506II laptop, while my Surface Pro 6 works normally. If you also face the same issue, try any of the methods to fix it.
Performing a hard resetting
- First shut down the system completely, and also dis-connect all power source with all devices.
- Press and hold down the power button of your PC for at least 60 seconds. The motherboard’s static charge will be discharged. The flashes will appear every 5 seconds and the built-in rgb keyboard becomes normal.
- Then power on your computer and log into your desktop. Press Win + R from your keyboard, type services.msc into the Run dialog box, and click OK button.
Locate the WLAN config item, double click on it to open the properties, change its startup status to automatic and click OK button. Finally the WiFi network adapter is working again.
Disabling the Power Off feature for the adapter
- Right click on the Start button, and select Device Manager from menu.
- Expand the Network adapters, right click on the Wireless Adapter, and select Properties option.
- Go to the Power Management tab, uncheck the mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power, and click OK button.
