Where to buy PSVR 2 – retailers & is it on Amazon / Best Buy?

Following the recent announcement of the PSVR 2’s highly anticipated product specifications and release date, we can now predict where to buy the PSVR 2 through its expected retailers.

The PSVR 2 launches today, and the headset looks ready to blow the expectations of VR out of the water. The headset has allegedly beaten a gaming PC with an RTX 3090 Ti in terms of performance and experience. If you’re looking to dip your feet into VR, the PSVR 2 seems the much better option over the expensive Meta Quest Pro.

PSVR pre-release has begun, and you can pre order now. We’re expecting the product to officially go on sale via PlayStation’s site today, though we’re not sure at what time exactly. Sony haven’t mentioned when pre-orders end, though logic dictates that they’ll end the day on the release date.

If the above sounds good to you, and the PSVR 2 games list gets you as excited as us, then you’re going to want to know where to buy the PSVR 2, though you might also be interested in our PSVR 2 review.

Expected retailers of the PSVR 2

We don’t yet have any confirmed information to gauge which retailers will be stocking the PSVR 2 upon its release, though using information from the original PSVR’s release, we can make some educated predictions that we think are could prove accurate.

When the PSVR 2 is ready to go live, the first destination if you’re looking to grab one should be PlayStation. Likely to have the most stocked, you’re going to have the most success purchasing through Sony who are guaranteed to be a retailer of the PSVR 2.

Is the PSVR 2 on Amazon and Best Buy?

At the moment, no.

As we saw with the launch of the DualSense Edge, which we recently had the chance to review, Sony seem to be withholding their products from popular retailers for a few weeks, encouraging people to buy through them. It’s possible that we see this with the PSVR 2, which could mean Sony are going to be your only option on release.

The other retailers will likely stock the PSVR 2 few weeks after the launch.

Currently, at the time of writing, you cannot pre-order the PSVR 2 from Amazon or Best Buy, as mentioned before, this is due to Sony’s preference for a hard-launch via their site, and then a soft-launch down the line via other retailers.

PSVR 2 pre orders are likely to ship slightly before the release date, which is February 22nd. In fact, PlayStation have posted a notice on their website stating that the headset will deliver between February 22nd – 28th, 2023.
