Thank you so much for stopping by! You may wonder… why start a travel blog? My family and friends know that this is a no-brainer, but for you, my new and fabulous reader, I will explain:

It all started with My Peace, Love, and Travel, a blog I co-founded in 2011. It was one of the first travel blogs written from a female perspective and it was pretty successful, garnering a couple thousand hits each month and peaking at 30,000 visitors overall. I lived and breathed blogging, but somewhere along the way I lost interest in just writing about travel and began living it. I moved to France for what was supposed to be a 9 month teaching contract and ended up staying for two years. Those two years were punctuated by soul-searching journeys, long-stay vacations, visits with friends in various places and a short move to Spain.

I continued writing for myself rather than an audience. My deepest sentiments, changing world views, and the places and encounters that touched me the most were recorded in leather-bound journals. I also jotted down blog ideas because even though my focus was on traveling, my heart was still set on blogging. Now that I’m back in “the real world,” I’ve realized how much I miss it! I still want to encourage others to travel, and my journals now serve as a source of inspiration for many the posts that I write.

I’ve become the go-to person for all things travel. People reach out to me when they want advice about traveling solo, need suggestions for things to do in Europe, are looking for tips on where to find cheap flights and everything in between. I even have friends from other countries who ask me for advice about how to travel in the States!

Hopefully I can give you a fresh perspective on travel and inspire you to breakaway! To finally get a passport, or to learn how to budget to make that dream trip come true. Who knows, maybe you’ll even decide to pick up another language! I’ll also share some interesting stories about the celebrities I’ve met and exclusive events that I’ve attended along the way.

This blog is not just for girls. The title One Girl One World simply represents the fact that this is my blog, from my perspective as a girl who is discovering the world and playing by my own rules. I invite everyone to share in this adventure! I’ll leave you with my favorite quote to get going 🙂
