Description

Although located at SEWS – Farmington Hills, Michigan Office, this is a flexible Work From Home position, which means an associate has the flexibility to work from home, but is expected to report to the local office as needed or required.


Basic Purpose:

Designer will be responsible for creating and updating 2D Harness prints to support Product Development Teams for multiple OEM’s, utilizing Capital Harness XC/Cap-H Classic software. Supporting FSS 2.0 functionality and Internal Drawing Release process.


Requirements:

  • HS or GED with a Technical Certificate.

  • 1 to 3 years of CAD Experience.

  • Automotive electrical and/or 2D CAD experience recommended but not required.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.


Responsibilities:

  • Interpret 2D Markup from DRE to update harness on 2D Software

  • Create 2D CAD representation of electrical components using Capital Harness XC / Capital Harness Classic.

  • Proactively communicate with cross functional teams to meet or exceed customer expectations (internal/external).

  • Support the creation, maintenance and updates of 2D CAD and library work orders/request within the SBM work flow software.

  • Identify, track and resolve issues

  • Good communication, high attention to detail, time management, interpersonal and organizational skill.

  • Support day to day decision making affecting design changes and implementation.

  • Maintain 2D CAD deliverables to ensure external customer milestones are met.

  • Follow Design/Release process.

  • Support and assist in new work flow development (Flattening)


Organizational Relationships:

Effectively communicate and resolve open issues with cross-functional team members (Product Engineering, 2D CAD, Applications, systems and manufacturing)
