University of London

The University of London is the oldest institution of higher education in the UK, and its roots can be traced all the way back to 1836. It grew out of the merger between various colleges – the University Colleges of London and Middlesex – with King’s College, which was granted a royal charter in 1829.

Now it is made up of three constituent universities, UCL, King’s College London, and Queen Mary University of London, as well as a number of central academic bodies and research institutes. Together they make up the largest university in Europe, with more than 130,000 students in its 24 institutes. The University of London is known across the globe for its world-class facilities and award-winning teams of staff.

King’s College London

King’s College London is the third-largest university in the UK and is one of the top 25 universities in the world. Founded in 1829, it is one of the two founding colleges of the University of London. It offers courses at multiple locations, such as the St Thomas campus in central London on the Thames River and Guy’s Hospital. Students can also take some courses at King’s College, or have a student exchange there. Internships are available too, as well as student societies that cover everything from drama and fashion to politics.

University of Westminster

The University of Westminster has a 180-year history, and you can take advantage of studying in the very heart of the City of London. It is home to over 19,000 students from all over the globe and is a modern, forward-thinking place to study with a view to providing courses aimed at focusing student minds on specific careers and not just with a view to being awarded a degree at the end of the course.

There are four large libraries, each with an extensive collection of books, journals, and specialist materials. Careers support is also extensive, with plenty of volunteering options and mentoring support programmes, work placements, and employability workshops.

Specialist facilities include access to Bloomberg Financial Markets Suites for those students studying Finance, Accounting, and Business. The Architectural studios have advanced facilities including a range of 3D printers and laser cutters.

NOT-FOR-PROFIT UNIVERSITY

Regents University of London is the only, not-for-profit university in the nation’s capital city. It is set in 11 acres of secluded private gardens and provides a supportive learning environment for students who wish to become leaders of the future and entrepreneurs.

Regents is a smaller university with an intimate feel of only 5,000 students on campus, despite welcoming students from over 140 countries. The dedicated Careers and Business Relations staff are on hand to offer expert advice and guidance about all things education, student finance, and careers counselling, as well as placements and internships to help build a future career.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

Goldsmiths University has a rich history of academic excellence dating back to 1891 and has a reputation for the best in arts and creative disciplines, humanities and social sciences. Students at Goldsmiths are encouraged to take a step back and take a different look at the world than they would at a ‘conventional’ university and to explore new ideas and concepts.

The libraries are open 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and there are several extensive student support services running throughout the university and the Students’ Union (which has over 100 clubs and societies).
