Simple Summer Wedding Aisle Decor – mywedding

Want a beautiful aisle that isn’t too fussy?  These 10 simple aisle decor ideas are very summery–simple, light, and relaxed. Some are so easy, you could even DIY them.  Because summer weddings are often held outside in a picturesque setting, you don’t need a lot of decorations to make your pictures pretty. Above, this simple sign starts this event off with a fairy tale vibe.  As you can tell, the rest of the aisle isn’t decorated, but the sign alone makes a sweet statement.

Do you need your floral budget to stretch a little? Consider having your centerpieces serve double duty as aisle decor (below). Not only are planter boxes very popular right now, they are also a cinch to move from the ceremony to the reception.  Sturdy blooms like brunia berries, dahlias, and succulents will ensure they won’t get rumpled along the way.

It doesn’t get more classic than these stunning floral decorations wrapped around each chair with a ribbon (below).  The cascading greenery is so pretty youwon’t need a ton of expensive flowers to make it look luxurious.

Ribbons in your wedding colors are simple, affordable, and perfect for a sunny, outdoors wedding. Below, this event features a ribbon ‘curtain’ at the altar and draped ribbons on each row.

These next few ideas could work well at an indoors or outdoors wedding. Tie ferns in bunches at each row for a woodsy vibe (above, left). Loving the baby’s breath trend? Use handfuls of baby’s breath with candles (indoors) or lanterns (outdoors) to light your rustic-chic path.

Greenery down the aisle can look lush and opulent for a reason. Whether you go all-green or with flowers (below) this look is simple, but more expensive that the other ideas seen here.  We think it’s well worth the added cost though, if you want an impressive entrance down the aisle.

Maybe flowers just aren’t your thing.  And with so many fantastic DIY paper craft ideas for aisle decor, you certainly don’t need them to create a vibrant and colorful ceremony. Use long bamboo skewers with your fave design, and plant them into either side of the aisle. Keep in mind that to create this look you will need WAY more of these skewers than you think. So, buy in bulk.  You can re-task some of these to decorate your wedding centerpieces at the reception, if you wish.

If you are short on time, few details pack more of a color punch than tissue paper poms. Although you can make them from scratch, there are also easy-peasy kits available. Add lanterns and you have aisle decor in less than a couple of hours.
