Customer Assistance Programs include:
– WRAP (Winter Relief Assistance Program): Free weatherization and
energy education program. Services include installation of energy
saving light; changing/cleaning heating/cooling filters;
replacement of waterbed coils with a foam mattress; refrigerator
replacement; water heating measures (for electric water heating
customers only); attic, duct, floor and wall insulation; blower
door testing for air leakage (drafts); door and window
weather-stripping; “whole house” foaming and caulking and door
sweeps and thresholds. Eligibility criteria include household
income, age, and be an individual metered PPL customer living in a
primary residence. If renting, landlord permission required. Home
can not have received WRAP services for at least seven years.

– CARES: A program for customers who cannot pay the full amount of
their electric bills because of temporary personal or family
hardships. Previously good-paying customers having a temporary
hardship situation, recent loss of job or major reduction in
household income, abandoned spouse or low-income elderly, and/or
confused and disoriented customer can apply. Any residential
customer can apply, regardless of income.

-OnTrack Payment Program: Payment plan for customers with limited
incomes who are struggling to pay the full cost of their electric
service. The program offers a reduced monthly payment and a chance
to erase any back debt owed. Eligibility criteria include household
income, family size and electric usage.

– Operation HELP: A PPL sponsored fuel fund that helps pay the
energy bills of low-income customers. Will help pay for any type of
home energy bills. All payments are made directly to energy
vendors. Program also covers security deposit waivers. Eligibility
criteria includes household income, family size and extenuating
circumstances and hardships.

– Rebates: Available for PPL customers who buy new energy,
efficient appliances or electrical heating and air conditioning
systems.

– Appliance Recycling: Will pick up your old refrigerator or
freezer and pay $35 for each. Air conditioning units also taken
with refrigerator and freezer pickup.
