Ocean Network Express invests in smart container solutions

ONE’s liner service is an integration of Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Mitsui OSK Lines and Nippon Yusen Kaisha. It has an international network covering more than 130 services to 120 countries.

Sony will create a dedicated and advanced solution for smart containers with ONE. “The real-time insights gained across ONE’s fleet will allow them to further optimise their shipping business and in doing so, improve customer service,” said Sony Network Communications Europe, head of the tracking division, Visilion, Erik Lund.

Container tracking across oceans involves a combination of coastal communications and connectivity with a global constellation of satellites and machine-to-machine technologies.
