OMG! I’m a Blogger – TOMBOY KC

After months of planning, chatting, planning, posing, styling, planning, web designing, oh and did I mention PLANNING?  Well here it is!  I am proud to announce that I, Katie Cassidy, am officially a blogger. TOMBOY KC is finally here! Whoot whooooooot! Hands up!

So how did we get here?
Well here is how it went down…

When putting together and conceptualizing what this space was going to look like, it was obvious that the focal point was going to be FASHION. Who are we kidding? I am OB. SESSED.  More than that, I knew that any fashion site I was a part of had to be about PERSONAL STYLE. Not just trends or popular acceptance, but individuals. I wanted it to be a place where people like me could connect and relate to one another. A place of shared ideas. A place to be REAL.

All of that was a given. But when it came time to define MY personal style and pick a name for this site that truly evoked who I was, I was at a loss. How do I begin to describe my sense of style? I collect stilettos but wear sneakers and obsess over sexy dresses but live in ripped denim. I am in men’s shirts more than I am in blouses, and yet both a pair of combat boots and over the knee stilettos are on my must have list for fall. How do I give this walking amalgam a name?

The truth is, who I am remains the same at the core, but my style has slowly evolved over time. Like a little girl, I still love to play dress up but the video game and sports loving tomboy within me lives to dress down. I think what I am trying to say is, I am a Tomboy by day and girly-girl Katie Cassidy at night. So after a lot of thought, it became clear. Tomboy Katie Cassidy. Tomboy KC. TKC. That’s it!

Tomboy KC is for the ladies out there who have mastered the chic casual and still know how to turn it out when the timing is right. They live in t-shirts but lust after dresses. Tomboy KC is for women who wear what they want, when they want to wear it and aren’t defined by dress-codes or what’s “hip.” Tomboy KC isn’t a look, it’s a lifestyle. A lifestyle I am proud to adopt.
