Honda Bikes

Honda has pledged to stop making gas-powered vehicles by 2040—cars, motorcycles, even ATVs. Their motorcycle sales are a significant part of their overall sales, and to that end, they are bringing out four electric motorcycles in the next couple of years. The first three models that should be out by 2024 include three city bikes, equivalent to a 125cc motorcycle, and a larger one.

From the patent diagrams, the first ones look like they’re built on a similar platform to the CB125R. That bike is a beginner bike, and it makes sense to appeal to new riders with an electric bike.

We reported recently about Honda joining the consortium for a standard, swappable battery. Now they’re going all in on electric.
