Lead Business Intelligence Analyst – Remote

Summary 

Our team is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst Lead, who will support business partners with advanced data reporting insights and to serve as a team lead within the analytic department. The BI Analyst Lead will work closely with Content & Programming teams, partnering with these business units to gain in-depth understanding of the customer, content, product and guide business strategy, processes, and services!

The best candidates for this role will exhibit strong communications skills, problem-solving abilities, and experience working collaboratively with different teams. This role further requires experience in leadership or mentorship of junior employees, and calls for a deep technical understanding of BI. Our goal is to find a candidate who can manage internal clients, make recommendations, and deliver insights which are meaningful. Does this sound like you?

 

 

Responsibilities

This is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, including:

  • Business Performance Reporting and Data Visualization: Be a primary partner for multi-functional internal partners within the Content & Programming organization to understand performance of the platform.

  • When a metric is leading or lagging, dig in to drive significant insights that help the business performance improve.

  • Deep-Dive Analysis: Analyze data to identify patterns, uncover opportunities, and build common understanding of how people are interacting with the platform and content.

  • Forecasting, and Opportunity Sizing: Both to set goals and help evaluate potential opportunities. This will help business partners evaluate trade-offs in different approaches and create targets for driving business performance.

  • Partnership: Partner closely with business teams to identify and unlock opportunities, and with other analysts teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, data visualization, and data architecture.

 

Qualities / Experience We’re Seeking

  • We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be successful in this role:
  • A minimum of 3-5+ years experience leading and collaborating with a Content & Programming or Editorial team
  • Experience partnering with large, cross-functional teams and leadership
  • Effective communicator of technical and statistical concepts in an easy-to-understand manner from entry level to executive
  • Strong experience with SQL and writing/optimizing complex queries; experience working with Adobe, Google Analytics, and Tableau
  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and practices in business intelligence/analytics
  • Demonstrates exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills with strong background working directly with coworkers and clientele to identify business objectives and establish requirements
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Business, Information Management & Systems or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Scaled Agile, Scrum is preferred

Hiring Salary Range: $139,500.00 – $160,000.00.

 

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York City, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.  The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable,  as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement. This position is bonus eligible.
