The Kristal XL 75 features the same motor found on the XL 621, this reel has a slower retrieve due to its gear-driven mechanism. While not the prettiest reels are known to man, the XL 75 series features a side-mounted interchangeable spool and it falls into the “Kristal Box Units” category. Unlike the KF 001, 003, and 004 models the XL 75 is mounted on a standard deep drop rod with an aluminum butt size #4 or greater. A #4 butt is required due to the reel’s weight distribution. You will not find a more functional, high performance, low maintenance reel.
