You’ve been able to view this information for a long time, but unless you knew how to use command lines, these were details available only for advanced users. However, starting with Windows 10, the Settings app makes it easy to view the complete network configuration for all your adapters installed on your device.

Check network configuration using Settings on Windows 10

Instead of using Command Prompt or PowerShell, you can now use the Settings app to get a complete view of your current network settings. 

To check the network configuration on Windows 11, use these steps:

1. Open Settings.

2. Click on Network & Internet.

3. Click on Status.

4. Under the “Change your network settings” section, click the “View hardware and connection properties” option.

   

5. Confirm the network connections and hardware information.

   

On the page, you’ll find a list of all your networking adapters for Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and virtual adapters. This information will determine the physical address (MAC), whether the connection is operational, link speed, IP and DNS addresses, network name and category (network profile), and more.
