Cartoon Network’s ‘Mighty Magiswords’ Renewed for Season Two
Cartoon Network has renewed its animated comedy series Mighty Magiswords for a second season.
Created by Kyle A. Carrozza (The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water), the show revolves around Prohyas and Vambre, a sibling team of “warriors for hire” who embark on heroic quests and fun adventures to locate magic swords known as Magiswords. The MagiMobile app, which was launched in November, lets fans collect swords just as the characters do.
In addition to the renewal, Cartoon Network said Thursday that it’s launching mobile game Surely You Quest, an idle RPG to be released for free on iTunes, Amazon and Google Play on Feb. 16. The game intersects with the MagiMobile app, allowing users to expand their previously earned magiswords collections. Gamers gain access to more than 400 pieces of original content, such as narrative vlogs by the warriors, collaborative shorts, digital games and MagiMobile.
Mighty Magiswords, which premiered in September, ranked as Cartoon Newtork’s top show for October. It also is one of the network’s top three series of VOD, while MagiMobile ranked as a top five app overall on iTunes, with 2 million downloads and 20 million swords collected.
New episodes of Mighty Magiswords, which is produced at Cartoon Network Studios, air Fridays on Cartoon Network and are available 24/7 on the Cartoon Network app.
